Didn't get to cap fatigue :/ If I hadn't taken that break to watch game of thrones I would have made it.

Fished from 3:30 to 10 am, about an hour break for game of thrones(only had to watch the last half) and other whatnots. Maybe 45 min total not fishing.

Ended up with 65 haks, 28 line breaks, and 105 black sole. Fatigue was kicking in pretty hard at the end there, Not sure how many more I would have been able to catch had I had time.

hm next time it's 50% moon I will test and only go after haks to see how many I can get in the same amount of time.

So...just to put this out in the open since other people seem to hit the fatigue after ~20 fish. It's because you are using a fish bot and 'killing' the fish. My advice? Don't kill the fish, just fish it up regularly. There is no need to 'kill' haks because they natively give you a long time to fish them up. If you 'kill' them, you end up catching them too fast to be fishing normal, which red flags you on the server and gives you a hard fatigue for the rest of the day.

That is the only reason anyone would reach fatigue after ~30 or so fish.

EDIT: Shaddix...isn't Game of Thrones AWESOME?!?!?! Have you read the books? Omg it's sooooooo good and so on the money with the books! (well for the most part) loooove it!

No, I am honestly not. This is way different fatigue from the almost fatigue from killing, as per my testing. Instead of boom no more fish for you after 1-2 fish, the fatigue sets in like normal fatigue, starting out at a decent catch rate and slowly getting streakier and streakier until I have to go through 10 or so mobs/items before I get last hak and full fatigue sets in.

Kill fatigue just smacks you with a full out "didn't catch anything", this is normal fatigue where I just start hooking items/monsters more and more until they're pretty much all I hook, and then I hit "didnt catch anything" fatigue after 20~40 haks, it varies a lot day by day. I've talked to a wide variety of fisher's out there and many of them claim to have weird variances. Yes some of them have openely admitted to botting and killing, and the interesting thing is, two accounts under the same user, using the same bot and kill system, are getting different results fatigue wise.

On guy I talked to was using generic quick kill method and was averaging 100 or so haks a day on his main account and only 20 on his mule, while getting 50+ on another mule, yet there was 0 fishing related difference amongst all three.

This leads me to believe there's some kind of lurking variable we've looked over as to what may cause these variant streaks in the dragon fish.

The "kill" hack has nothing to do with it. All the fishing is done client side. Only thing sent back to the server is when you reel the fish in. If you're getting fatigued quickly, your reeling in too quick. If you set your delay longer on the reel in you will be fine.

Send Fish Command > Receive Fish on Hook > Client Side Fish Fight (nothing is sent to the server during the point) > Send reel in command with fish HP

Caught thousands before the message appeared. This theory is void.

@Mafai if they're tracking people who catch fish too quickly, wouldn't they have done something by now? I just can't see them pulling a Salvage-esque mass ban on people they assume are fish botting. Mainly because before I started using one, I pulled up plenty of Gugrusaurus before the message appeared, via CPUkiller. (Assuming this because they waited a long time to execute the Salvage bans)

Its a valid arguement, the punishment seems to be you not being able to fish fully for the day. Its a good question as to why they aren't just terminating accounts that do it. Maybe they don't consider it as bad of an infraction as a dupe?

I have never fatigued after many hours of killing Gugru / Lik. Obviously I was not catching over 200 a day, but I would say I've easily broken 100 on multiple occasions. This was always done by waiting until the "You don't know how much longer you can keep this fish on the line" message.

I have not ventured into the Hak market, as gil isn't really an issue for me at the moment but I can guarantee I can cap @ 200 Hak everyday using my theory of waiting for the "You don't know how much longer you can keep this fish on the line".

Another thing to note. I'm not sure what you use to fish, but it looks like xiClaim has some release if over a certain weight happening in their back end. If I recall, I did speak to Dave (one of the devs) and he said they release fish over a certain weight because they are not humanly possible to reel in. That is what I'm fishing with, maybe this also has an impact on it?

I really don't understand how people are hitting some fatigue cap at 20 or 30 hakuryu when on two characters every single day I can catch 60-100(depending on time spent) and never hit fatigue, shit one of them has absolutely no fishing furnishing at all, only thing "special" is ebisu.

Before Hakuryu were introduced I caught Liks/Gugs as well, without ever reaching fatigue.

I'm doing quite the opposite. I use one of those free ffevo programs and it is fairly quick at reeling in. It has no option for reel in speed, rod recast or to even immediately kill the catch.

I've caught over a hundred Hakuryu in one day without the message and without fatiguing as well. I've never reached fatigue on them, mainly because I don't afk (for too long) and get physically tired of it.

Fish weight as an preventative measure has me scared, lol that is a feature I've never heard of.

Like I've said, I pull up every catch before the message appears, I would say about 20 seconds to catch a Hakuryu, nearly half the time allowed.

I've never been approached by a GM while catching them, I've only been given the procedure in Vunkerl (S) because Trumpet shells used to be heavily botted.

Trumpet shells is the only place I've ever been approached too, heh.

Yea, I've never heard of it either until I noticed I was releasing some of my target fish. I asked about it and was told they are monitoring for it to be humanly possible to reel in before even checking it against your target list.

People who are only able to catch 20-30 are doing something wrong.

    idk

Maybe I'll go do some legitimate fishing and hit the mysterious early fatigue. lol

It really has me baffled, I just don't understand how these people fatigue so quickly... Honestly, if they are truly fatigued, maybe it's a bug and we're looking much too far into this subject.

@urat - have u tried turning the bot off for a day or few and legitimately catch the fish and see if u still fatigue early? Pretty easy test to atleast gather some more information.

Quoted from another place from a dev who fishes all the time:
"Narrowing down to just the fishing topic be careful with insta-killing fish. While the fish HP is client side the catches per hour rate is monitored on the server. For proof try fishing for Moat Carp with instant kill set; typically I'll catch ~20 fish and then suddenly my character will have maximum fishing fatigue and get nothing but "You didn't catch anything." messages until the next JP reset. Because anything over "x" number of catches per unit of time throws a red flag and this is where "fake fighting" inadvertently helps out.

For fish such as Gugrusaurus and Lik I insta-kill them every time. Why? Because the bite and catch rate is so low that even yanking them straight out of the water I'll still only get 8 or 9 an hour (apparently line/rod breaks and "miss" doesn't count as a "catch" for the server). So besides just looking suspicious there's a very good reason not to go on a Black Sole frenzy."

And I did test this, for those people who are telling me what I'm saying is not true. However, killing haks only resulted in a low fatigue like...half the time because some days my bite rate was so terrible that killing them didn't really make my catches/hr any faster than normal.

It would be a good explanation, but what about the people who are fishing legitimately? I thought this problem was more common among them?

So I ended up making about 750k in about six hours. How long does it take to catch 75 haks if you aren't fishing black sole along with it. You guys botting with reel in times of 20 seconds need not answer. Fishing by hand I often get the time message and every now and then I actually lose one.

I am trying to figure out where the breakeven point is to where it becomes better to release soles if you have >x amount of time available. Six hours and under clearly you should be reeling in black sole.

Never read kot books. I'm a visualphile if that's a word so happy for it too. I sit six feet from a 60 inch plasma when I watch something I care about lol

Thats the thing, I get fatigue no matter what I test. Today with my fresh stamina I'm going to test making the program catch at the last possible second, AND waiting 10~12 seconds between casts. It may be a matter of catching too many haks/hour and not individual haks overall. I do occasionally use penguin + seagull when my latest ring set has been sold so I'll see what happens.

The server only knows a handful of things when you fish

#1 the point in time you catch the fish
#2 the type of fish you are trying to reel in
#3 the exact moment you catch the fish

And that's it afaik, however thats really all they would need to know to tell if you're kill fishing or honestly just fish botting. Even a normal fish bot set up to fish inhumanely will catch a fish way way faster than any human could, so its potential we lose fatigue on some form of algorithm based on weight/time it took to catch, or it could monitor how many fish you catch/hour and start fatiguing you based on that...

I'm gonna to use a kill program to make sure I completely max out my possible time to catch the fish, I'll update you guys on how many haks I end up catching.

On the contrar from what I've read. Is there anyone who has had this happen repeatedly who does not use a bot?
