So I decided to give this a shot to see if I encountered this early fatigue.
I fished yesterday on two characters, one using auto-fight (it actually fights the fishs HP down to 0) and the other using kill hack (it forces HP to 0 20-25 seconds after its hooked).
I caught ~150 on each characters and there was no signs of fatiguing on either of them (determined by wait between casts).
My first fish was caught @ 15:06:47 and last @ 08:05:19.
I manually parsed my logs, these were the results (one character only as I wasn't running logger on both machines):
148 instances of: caught a hakuryu
93 instances of: Your line breaks.
1 instance of: You lost your catch due to your lack of skill
6 instances of : You lost your catch
660 instances of: You didn't catch anything
855 instances of: You give up and reel in your line.
This was with Ebisu, Sinking Minnow, Apron, Skill + Hands and Feet (no legs, I lost them and none on AH). LVL 100 fishing on character as well.
So unless I missed a message parsing my logs:
1763 casts
1103 bites - 62% of time I got a bite.
248 Haku bites - 14% of casts were Haku, 22% of total bites
148 successful Haku reel ins - 59% successful when Haku bites.
Two new fishing items:
Fisher's Torque Rare Exclusive
Neck
Fishing skill +2
Lv81 All Job
Fisher's Rope Rare Exclusive
Waist
Angler's Discernment +1
Lv85 All Jobs
Obviously one of these must come from gutting a Matsya!
Also, when someone gets a chance, would you mind reporting on whether SE has made PC fishing easier (similar to PS2)? The following was in the fishing update announcement, but it doesn't specifically state that this change was going to occur for this update:
"We are also aware of the significant outstanding issues with RMT abuse and difficulty imbalances related to players’ system environments, and will continue working towards a viable solution. "
Urat, you posted this in the DAT mining discussion:
What leads you to believe they are related to magian trials? The equipment seem to be in the same category as the new fishing items, so I'd be interested to know whether I'll be picking up a magian fishing rod and some magian bait today!Chocobo Torque Rare Exclusive
Neck
Chocobo riding time +4
Lv81 All Jobs
Chocobo Rope Rare Exclusive
Waist
Slightly enhances chocobo digging skill
Lv85 All Jobs
Clearly magian trials, Im hoping the trials don't take too long to complete to get the pieces, I have quite a few of them I want to get my hands on... Fuck... I need more storage room again >_<
edit: Forget Zaldon! Turn in 10 Matsya to the Magian Moogle for the new items! I got this!
I'll does the PC thing on Haku when server's back up.
The Tandem necklace/+1/+2 are listed right before the 3 neckpieces, so it looks like a series of magian trials to get tandem necklace all the way to +2, followed by a path split to those necklaces. That`s my guess. Could be something else totally unrelated but it smells like magian trials to me.
Eh, I looking at the list I don't think that's going to be the case, but I might be wrong. The ropes are in a different area of the list, and are not surrounded by anything that look trial related. The icons for the Tandem necklace and other neck pieces are also different: http://www.ffxiah.com/new-items/2011-05-09 (scroll all the way to the bottom).
Maybe they'll just be GP items, in which case I hope that extra 180k GP sitting around will be enough. Who knows. Hopefully we find out shortly after the servers go back online.
I just realized those neck pieces are level 81, what the fuck?
Yeah I am gonna have to level my whm past 79 now I guess >_<
I have no need for gil either, and rather not sacrifice my mules time for fishing when i can use them for doing stuff... I just did that to test the fatigue stuff with killhack vs auto-fighting the fish.
On the otherhand, it was nice to see that gil come in that easy and made me want to do another relic / mythic.
That would be some bullshit if they did this, I NPC'd all of my Haku's this morning as well, lol.
Very interest in that neckpiece however, any + point of skill makes hooking a Haku that much better. I'm sure the Ebisu fish market will see a resurgence soon as well.
We need to compile a list of every possible Zaldonable fish so we can go through them one by one and check every time we get another update.
