No it is not, at least from what I've been experiencing. And that probably answers my question of if the amount of HP the fish regen's when its idle reflected upon the 4 id's. This think makes me believe that it is a static % between all fish, which makes sense

Thanks cdgreg, I'll tell him to try fishing those. I had him go to buburimu peninsula with one and he said he wasn't getting any luck at all fishing them.

BTW, would crayfish maybe be better than rogue rig since it offers other fish? He has my old lu shang

Ya, tell him to get skill up ring (Pelicans?) and he'll be flying through levels like WHOOAAAA. Then he can switch to shrimp lure at 53

Question: Why do both penguin ring and albatross ring have two entries each on FFXIAH? One version is normal, while the other version only has 30 charges. Are there "mini" versions of these rings floating somewhere around Vana'diel?

I seem to remember when they first came out they had less charges, but the enchantment lasted until you logged/zoned with a 24 hour cooldown. Then they introduced the mini-game and changed the rings.

Huh. In that case, do you recall where the rings originally came from?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does synthesis count as resting? As in, if I try to fix my broken lu's in range of a beastmen that is "Too Weak" would it aggro and interrupt the synth?

The rings were originally fewer charges but lasted longer. But since you lost the affect when you zoned that made life miserable since the main use for them was fishing gugs on the ferry. After a boat ride you were left twiddling your thumbs for like 40 minutes (or was it an hour and 40 minutes? I forget) until the timer was ready again. Because of that they changed the item to have more but shorter charges. They came from the same places they do now. SE just basically changed the item to make it more ferry friendly.

outer ruins is fisher's torque, now my fishing is 10!. So glad i only wasted like 3 hours there.

Looks like I know where I'll be spending my time, although I've already been spending hours in that area. Guess I would have run across in soon enough.

Saw that, shat bricks respectively. Guess it's time to take a break from Goldsmithing and try for a Torque/Cap merits/Level NPC/Gouge Eyes out/Cry manly.

Confirmed that Fisher's Torque does indeed drop in Outer Horutoto Ruins, entered from the top of the map in West Sarutabaruta.

Surprisingly took me only an hour... on my second brown box.
A lot better than trying to get the rope... 20+ hours and nothing.

I haven't messed with this shit yet, but do you for the most part just take max clues and then 1 guess at numbers? Or really depends on clues?

I just used keys on thief if clues sucked balls, there were times where it actually made a difference..

It depends really. Normally I'll guess with 2 or 3 guess left, and take it down from there. I'd say I open it about 90% of the time.

Been farming for 11 hours today in Outer Horutoto Ruins, I've had... 54 chests drop, I'd say about 30% of those were brown chests. So far no luck

Well, after killing 296 bats I learned that I probably should be doing the book tests to get a higher chest drop rate~ oops
