Both give you +1 skill over the other, so really it's up to you.

If you have a sign from another guild get waders first, its easier to equip a piece of gear than have to reset your moghancement everytime you swap crafts.

Otherwise get waders first so that little +1 skill will kindofbutnotreally help you get the sign faster... but not really

Order should be something like:

Serpent Rumors
Fishing Stall
Apron
Net and Lure?
Waders
Signpost
And then finally fishing hole map if you wanna go for 100% completion.

So far it seems, if indeed we did calculate how mega moglification works, max +fishing skill you can get is:
base: 100
Smock + Hands + Waders + Feet + Torque = +7
Guild support = +2
Ebisu = +46
The Big One + Map + Signpost + Fishing Stall + Net/Lure = +5 skill? Or something like that? I swore I read somewhere that using mega moglification each piece of furniture created a cumulative +1 effect, so all 5 pieces of furniture = +5 skill? I dunno.

If so then total is 46+5+7+2 = +60 fishing skill, for a whopping total of 160 fishing skill, wow?

the 46 skill comes from autoregen differences between lu and ebisu. If autoregen is to be believed as an accurate measurement of fish level, then ebisu is +46 skill.

What language do you write all these programs in? What GUI library do you use?

Visual Basic in .net, works well enough for me. If the program is simple enough I just write a simple console program in C++, C#, VB, or even perl if I'm in a hurry and it works well enough. Whatever I feel like at the time to be honest.

I posted it on page 271, right around the same time fishing ID's were being discovered so it didn't really get looked at, I'd love for more discussion on the topic:

Facts verified by multiple fish:
Fishing skill 13 and above fish cap = Auto-depletion
Fishing skill -24 to 12 = Stagnant
Fishing skill -25 and below fish cap = Auto-regen
Lu Shangs has no hidden skill, it auto deplete/regens at the same levels as Halcyon and other cheap rods
Ebisu has hidden skill, it auto depletes/regens at different levels from all other rods

Target: Titanictus

With Lu Shangs:
autoregen at 89 (fish is 25 levels higher)
stagnant at 90 (fish is 24 levels higher)
Therefore, Titanictus skill cap is 114
Therefore, Last level Titanictus will be stagnant is 126 skill
Therefore, To autodeplete Titanictus you will need to be at 127 skill

With Ebisu:
stagnant at 80 (Skill is 12 levels above fish)
autodeplete at 81 (Skill is 13 levels above fish)
Therefore: First level to autodeplete TItanictus is 127, Ebisu rod first establishes autodepletion at level 81. 127 - 81 = 46.

Proposal: Ebisu fishing rod has a hidden attribute of +46 fishing skill.

Check my maths, I'm no good at it. If the math is right we can hopefully find another level 80 ebisu owner at some point to verify the original Titanictus test. And hopefully repeat the test with a fish in the 120's or 130's to make the levels easier.


PS im not taking credit for all this, just compiling the testing from various contributors

Ya, I'd even be happy to just have the titanictus/ebisu test verified by a second tester.There really has to be a lot of fish in that skill level range, just getting people to travel to remote locations and catch pointless fish doesn't often end in success.

Hiys fisher folk, im after some advice from those of you that had the crappy luck with Gugrusaurus.. is there a good time to fish these, iv had my opal silk for months now and been fishing Gugrus whenever i get chance but my catch rate is horrendous, 6 hours, 15 stacks of bait, 13 caught, 12 rod breaks, lost count of how many line breaks, the next day i got in 4 boat trips and landed 2 with 4 rod breaks. This has been going on for some time but seems to be worse since the update. Any advice from those that have already suffered the Ebisu quest will be gratefully recieved. thanks.
