Heh, people have said that before! Perhaps it's because I'm a girl. There are many times I wished I would've made a taru, but then I realize I look hotter with bewbs >.>

What was your overall chest rate like? I've tried 3 times now in 3 zones and gotten 6 brown caskets out of 620ish kills as the only person in the zone. Level 1 treasure casket for most of that. Just wondering how much the additional prowess helps.

That makes me wonder if additional characters helps. Does it help? I had my mule and another mule duoing in zeruhn, both with lv3-4 treasure casket and I was getting one every other kill. It seemed that way anyway. Could have been 1/3. Or maybe different zones have different casket rates?

edit: Dunno if this is common knowledge nowadays, but I have witnessed zone fatigue twice now. It only seems to occur after staying in a zone for a very long period of time. I am not sure if it requires you to be fishing or not. I will test to figure that out.
    Here is how to reproduce:
1)Fish to 200 in talacca with lu/shrimp starting at jp midnight.
2)stay in zone until next jp midnight passes
3)/fish will now force you to wait longer than would be expected for a fresh day
4)zone out and back into talacca
5)/fish delay is now reset to normal

There is odd zone fatigue.. i tried doing testing for a couple days but got really fed up with it. something like after 170 casts you hit a 'level 1' fatigue if you will, then after 70 more, then 70 more, then 50, then 50, something something. If you zone it will reset. Upon rezoning i tried running the tests again and they were happening at different intervals so i just said fuck it. I don't know if the cast count is affected by the amount of fish you've caught or not either. I saw it hit fatigue again at 130 casts after rezoning at one point as well.

Oh i meant 6/620ish brown chests. Not total chests if that skewed the perception. Still is quite maddening.

edit: ......and turns out I already said that. Ordelles making me go crazy.

Why do people keep saying things like this? There is fatigue that effects your recast rate (more successful catches = higher delay for the /fish command) and there is your daily limit. That is all. If fish aren't biting and you haven't reached your daily limit, the water is simply out of fish. The moon phase influences how quickly the fish respawn.

What do you mean. Fatigue doesn't affect bite rate as far as i can tell.

edit: The fatigue that affects your recast rate is what he and I are talking about. It isn't caused only by more successful catches. How long you are in the zone affects it as well.

This is not correct. /fish command fatigue is what i'm referring to, is not affected by catches. Don't really know what you're talking about with fish spawning either, sounds made up. The only thing cast count affects is the /fish command delay after last cast is over, and this is the fatigue I'm referring to that resets when you zone.

Have you fished before? The rate at which fish are restocked in the resource tile is based on moon phase. More people fishing means the tile will get depleted quicker. That's why having a dozen fishbots in talacca drives your bite rate down to shit.

Both of you: go get a fishbot (or a stopwatch) and try for yourself. Successful catches increase your delay. Zoning does not reset it. Catch 100 fish, note the actual delay you need to use. Zone and sell your fish. Come back and try setting your delay lower, you'll get the "must wait longer" message.

Moreover, the idea that fish pools can be drained is absolute bullshit. Yes, we all wondered why our fish bites would drop to shit with a hundred bots next to us, but you should go get your fishbot and take a log of bite rates during high population times in Talacca and low population times and see if it makes a difference whatsoever. I haven't fished in Talacca in nearly a year, but I remember very well getting absolutely terrible bite rates when absolutely no one was in the zone, as well as great bite rates when tons of people were in the zone. I also remember very well that my catches versus no catches would average out roughly the same every day, even though the population would fluctuate. RNG is random. Even if it's tied to moon phases, that still has nothing to do with depletion.

People need to stop making that claim without any evidence. It's placebo.

I did, with 2 chars, every day to 200 fish for like 8 months. It absolutely makes a difference. Moon phase and other fishers make a huge difference to your bite rate, it is painfully obvious. Go try it, the difference between 25% and 50% bite rate is kinda hard to miss. Or is there anyone in Talacca any more?

Shaddix: read the posts. Matricide is claiming that your delay is based on casts: it is not. Matricide is claiming it resets on zone: it does not. It is absolutely based on catches, your delay gets bumped up at the same number of catches regardless of 25% bite rate or 50% bite rate. And zoning doesn't reset it. You may very well have to zone after JP midnight to get your delay reset, but that isn't what was claimed.

Ok yeah I see. I was thinking he was talking about after 24 hours had passed of you being in the zone.

Also, GMs have talking about the fish pool before, but I cant' remember what they said. And I'm not sure how much stock I put into what a GM says about game mechanics.

I'd say one out of every 5 or 6 mobs would drop at chest towards the end...but only 25% of the drops would be brown. And I lost a bunch because of ridiculous clues. Not to rub anything in >.> but I got a second one for Cheech the very next day. I stayed in zone for 4 days total and saw a torque on third day and a torque on fourth day. First one dropped off a high level bat, second dropped off a low level goblin in the first room.

Suit yourself, but you're wrong, delay is based on casts in addition to catches. Go fish haks, you will hit zone fatigue after x number of casts, rezone and it'll reset. I believe this is in addition to fatigue from number of catches, which cannot be removed by zoning (this one resets at jp midnight). You're very much so wrong in thinking I'm not correct about number of casts, but I'm not going to continue arguing with you about it.

Since you said the interval wasn't consistent, that makes me think it is fatigue accumulated due to # of fish released.

It's quite possible we are talking about the same fatigue and there is no zone fatigue. I will test tonight if there really is zone fatigue. I'll catch a single fish, then wait 24 hours, and measure the delay difference. If it just like a fresh day then it's quite possible the release fish fatigue is what I am mistaking for zone(time-based) fatigue.

Unless something has changed I have never experienced zone fatigue in relation to wait between cast times. When I was skilling fishing my char didn't leave nash for days if not weeks at a time. shit always just refreshed back to no fatigue after jp midnight
