So not that I even intended to test this stuff that's been thrown around the past few days, but I can confirm by just starting fishing again today, there is some sort of recast fatigue if you don't leave the zone, even after JP midnight. You can still catch fish, but the time between taking the rod out of the water and then recasting it is MUCH longer if you haven't left the zone to reset the fatigue from the previous day's fishing. Sorry if this has been said in a previous post by someone, I haven't had time to actually read through every wall o' text and just wanted to throw in my 2 cents xD

Also just to clarify, you have to actually move to a different zone for it to be considered zoning, because logging out still leaves you 'zoned in' to the same area and therefor does not reset. Sorry again if that's already been clarified elsewhere.

Well it's good that you verified about the zoning part. I suspect though that it is the release fish fatigue. I will know tomorrow if there's actual zone time based fatigue. The maint messed me up today so I am repeat tonight.

It's not really hard to verify been around since forever and is very noticeable. Like higher up can go from 10-10.5 seconds to 4-6 after you zone. However zoning will not reset it back to lowest value as how much you've caught for the day also effects recast delay. Basically it's the remenants of the old "soft" fatigue system being mixed with the newer "hard" fatigue. And for those that don't remember soft fatigue was increasing recast delay and lowering of bite rate (well of actual fish anyways you could start to catch rustys like crazy) after like 45-90 min in zone. Of course botters just ended up making bots that zoned and it just ended up hurting real fisherman more so they got rid of the lowering of bite rate. From what I've seen from when I used to actually watch it closely you have a base /fish recast then added onto that is extra time from fatigue from fishing that day reset at jp midnight then more time added based on time in zone. Or maybe time fishing in zone idk if I just sat there for hours not fishing and started again jp midnight it tended to go back down.

Side note I've read alot about this stamina depletion thing to get an accurate read on higher than lvl 100 fish and accurate read on just how much fishing skill you have anyone tested to see just how much skill you can get from furniture and how to get it?

I ask cause while I haven't really seen it discussed on here from what I've been seeing and lightly testing anglers discernment proc seems to be depend on your skill relative to the cap of the fish. Basically I've noticed really far away it just wont proc and closer it will then more and more. And been doing lik lately and couldn't get it to proc a single time for days but finally remembered to put on waders this time after getting synth support and sure enough. And well another target ID in the pool should increase over all bite rate. And any testing on fisher rope? Or has anyone even gotten one lol?

Fish did not have HP, all you had to do was push enter to reel them in
Same system except fatigue based on how long your in zone
New System with HP and zone time fatigue
New System with zone time fatigue / fish caught fatigue

I fished 3 fish around 9pm yesterday. Left character in zone all night and day, fished at 12pm and it is just as low of delay between casts as it was at 9pm the day before. However my internet went out and kinda borked it. I'm stlil going to say it's a valuable test though since we know logging out does not reset the zone fatigue. So something about actual fishing accumulates fatigue that can only be removed by zoning, waiting past jp midnight does not reset it completely.

Next test:
Enter nashmau fresh.
Fish everything including items to cap of 200.
Wait til next day and see if delay is reset to fresh or if the fatigue is still present.

Probably gonna do later this week as sleepy now.

No need, sir. I accidentally tested that the other day in Beauc. Granted I didn't fish until cap, probably only 80 or so caught, but the next day when I started up again the recast delay was still there. I ran into Pso'Xja around the corner, came back, and the delay was back down to nothing. Unless of course you're talking about actual hard cap/catch no more fish fatigue. In which case, just ignore me >.>

I am referring to the update notes that said releasing a fish will incur fatigue. I think it means specifically fish, but I want to make sure and reel in every single thing that hooks the line. It has to be done in a town because you will have to fight a bunch of mobs if you do it in the field.

Meh, I said awhile back I'd test this then just plain never got around to it. Advanced support for fishing is +2, pretty sure I verified that awhile back. It really wouldn't be hard to test the cumulative effect of moghancement and adding pieces of furniture, just annoying.

I did, with 2 chars, every day to 200 fish for like 8 months. It absolutely makes a difference. Moon phase and other fishers make a huge difference to your bite rate, it is painfully obvious. Go try it, the difference between 25% and 50% bite rate is kinda hard to miss. Or is there anyone in Talacca any more?

Shaddix: read the posts. Matricide is claiming that your delay is based on casts: it is not. Matricide is claiming it resets on zone: it does not. It is absolutely based on catches, your delay gets bumped up at the same number of catches regardless of 25% bite rate or 50% bite rate. And zoning doesn't reset it. You may very well have to zone after JP midnight to get your delay reset, but that isn't what was claimed.

First of all, I never said that moon phases have no effect on fishing. At the very least it's plausible, moon phases are a part of fishing in reality too. That bodies of water have a pool of fish to draw from, however, is contrary to what I've seen. I didn't keep any of the logs I took, but if you did I'd appreciate seeing them. I've gone on very long no bite streaks while people next to me pulled them in, and sometimes just the opposite. My percentage almost never changed by more than 5% most days, even when the population wildly fluctuated (because I fished at various periods of the day). I'm definitely skeptical, so if you actually have those logs I'd like to see 'em.

I've gone on very long no bite streaks while people next to me pulled them in, and sometimes just the opposite.

Of course, random streaks happen with anything. I am saying that without competition, bite rate at the end of 200 catches was always consistent for the moon phase, with 50% being terrible and 0%/100% being great. But when the guy with 6 fishbot accounts logged them in, both my characters bite rates would drop. Both characters taking an extra 2 hours to finish fishing every single time there's competition becomes pretty obvious pretty fast. I'll look through my stacks of hard drives some time and see if I can find my old one from when I fished.

...I used to get them for that...on Titan, and at the very beginning of the server merge...but for some FUCKED up reason, they are up to 4k+ a piece now. And this has been ongoing for a week or two now. FML I might just go back to minnows and forget about catching black sole too. Ugh..

Its the same on Quetz.. 1 guy runs 4 bots pretty much 24/7 on Hakus and whores all the SMs, pisses me off, never manage to get there when the price is under 1k.

It's just so frustrating -.- I mean, I could go back to minnows but then my overall catch rate tanks and I make less than I would with SM. I don't understand how ALL SIX BOATS could be 3k+

That means the SM are being bought out EVERY DAY on EVERY BOAT. That has to be a shit ton of people doing that >< /angry

Finally got my serpent rumors! Trilobites for todays gp item left me with 95040/95000, just enough! Finally can start going for an ebisu. Been debating on whether or not I want to go for the apron or other stuff.. I'm probably going to switch back to bonecraft so I can hit t1 on hecatomb head in 2~3 months of doing gp every day.

Maybe I don't understand how the guild shops work (cause maybe this happens and I've never caught it) but earlier this week I went to 3-4 shops and not a single one had anything but fishing rods. Did someone actually buy everything, or does that happen by it self for some reason?
