I think the gravy train is going to run out faster than expected. When I started two months ago on haks I could almost always get sinking minnow for 691, and now they are always 3K+ every time I check on every single boat.
I know that people buy them for 2k+ also because sometimes I get on boat and it's greyed out at that price.

I average 2 haks per minnow.

Spending 6K to make 20K without any fear of demand/price fluctuations since I'm NPCing them is still pretty damn high profit compared to any other craft. You should need to run around and buy out all the boats one day and fill your inventory up, and then slowly go through them all

Yeah probably but never seen them higher. At least from the windy guild merchant. Also like it cause sometimes I randomly get called away to do stuff right after I start fishing and only eating 300 gil per lure loss isn't too hard on the bank account

Minnows are really only marginally worse at catching Haks anyways. The only REAL downside to regular minnows is that you cant catch black sole for extra profit. But yeah, an average of two haks + misc. black sole per sinking is still 20-30k profit after spending only 1-4k on a lure when you put it like that. That's not too shabby screw the crazy ferry botters!

Yeah mostly I just don't like dealing with the ferry itself. And I seem to average 10-15k an hour as is so meh.

Well you can spend 60k for 40 hakuryu in about 4 hours during a good moon and then have to go buy some more shortly after, or you can spend 15k for 100 hakuryu and not have to go buy more for about 12 hours.

I got on boat just now and sinking are 3k and greyed out, someone has recently bought all 15 or however many you get at that price. And minnows are 400g and was only able to get 30 of them.

anyone know the best lure to use for dorado gar? about 45 mins at the middle pond in abyssea la theine with sinking minnow has netted me.. 0, just a bunch of giant catfish :/

also, anyone know the rate of gold ingots from zaldon?

Fishing Gar for gold ingots isn't worth your time. I turned in 30+ the only time I did it an only saw 3 gold ingots from one fish. Also, you're fishing in the wrong pond, you can only catch Gar down at the mini ponds at the south edge of the map where the Crapaudy are located.

I pulled up some Gar while fishing other fish in that pond while trying for the ring. Traded about 10 gar's in, and got gold ingots from 3/10. I was actually planning on fishign them for ingots when we can take a 2nd skill to 100 and I work on GS. Talila's account makes me wonder if I was lucky, she was unlucky, or most likely it falls somewhere in the middle.

It's quite possible that I was just unlucky on that trade in. I never did try again so perhaps chances are better than I thought. I'll have to fish some more though, if it's a relatively easy way to get ingots that would be cool

I think the people who Fish on Shiva are retarded. That, or I'm just really lucky.
Everytime I go to fish Hakuryus, Sinking Minnows are always 691, and I usually grab like 20-30.
And there's never anyone at the spot, the whole time I'm Fishing.

But, whenever I did Fish Ranking or GP Fish, I always saw a certain 3-5 people [usually JP] with Ebisu doing them.
I find it pretty weird that people spend hours doing Fish Ranking -every month- when they have an Ebisu, and I'm assuming 100 Fishing.
They could possibly be doing it for their mule or somesuch, but one of them has gotten 1st/2nd place in every Fish Ranking I've seen thus far, and probably more.
He was also doing it before you could Dbox Pelican Rings to your mules, so...idk.

All-in-all I guess I should be happy that I don't have to pay out the ass for Sinking Minnows.

Correct. I don't even carry around the +1 fishing gear anymore, and I really want to toss my waders but can't bring myself to, such a waste of inventory space.

Probably right about the mule part. Additionally a number of people have dinged into Ebisu at 78 and then decided to take the slow skill road yanking up high profit fish rather than sticking to cheaper 200 per day fish. I did this personally on Liks from about 85>100. Made a stupid amount of gil with a bazaar mule next to Zaldon on a nightly basis.

I would've ding into ebisu on my mule except I lacked the gp for the key item. I still do. It's so easy to lvl faster than you can get enough gp especially when it's repeatidly stupid stuff at lower lvls.

Also for fish ranking I often see people with ones really good for that months ranking selling them for a good 100-200k easy
