I've had minnow on a lv94 fishing alt with no furnishings and ah gear catch more haks than my main with stall signboard and smock with sinking minnow through an 8 hour period

I haven't really been keeping up on fishing's updates for the past... 3 years now? Anyways, what's the standard top-of-the-line setup? I'm pretty clear on the gear aspect (smock, angler's gloves, angler's hose, waders, fisherman's torque, fisherman's rope). But furniture... I don't know where we stand on furniture though. Does one just need the Fisherman's Stall, or do the Net and Lure, Fishing Hole Map, and Fisherman's Signboard still have a place?

ok break rate finially evened out. Bite rate has gone up from about 10-10.5 with minnow to about 13-13.5 on sinking. Decent increase I suppose but not sure I'd rate that with the extra cost and time to get them if you fishing long time

Completely left out Noddy/Puffin rings... not like there's competition in the ring slot. Nobody has a comment on fishing furniture in terms of stall versus stall+net and lure+signboard+fishin hole map?

For what it's worth, my bite rate on haks with apron and noddy/puffin and sinking minnows is 2135/16702, 12.8%. Break rate 868/2435 = 35.6%. I use Minnows when I can't get Sinkers affordably, and there's usually a very steep drop off in bite rate (from 13% to 10%). Break rate seems lower, but not enough to outweigh the slow bite rate IMO.

Not really sure why but after getting stall on my mule and that's all I have besides the buyable fishing equipment and no other furnishings the break rate went way down. So I'd reccommend stall. Plus it's only 15k gp. Also of course it sped things up like it's supposed to but that was expected

I hope they don't nerf this soon, but by the looks of it, 20 people out here fishing for haks and I know of a few chars that aren't out here that are usually here (shaddix knows who i'm talking about), has to get nerfed somehow. This is too much of a gold mine

I can see them cracking down on the botting before nerfing it. I don't really think the fisherman who fishes 3-4 hours a day there is the problem, it's the other 19 characters who fish up 200 a day.

Yesterday a GM was warping to all the people in zone asking them if they were afk on bahamut. The funny part was warping to another character that was like 10 away

Ya, I read that yesterday. It sounds like all he wanted people to do was /tell him back right? Could you write a script, autoexec, spellcast or something to automatically reply to any /tell hi?

People do that yes. But GMs can do more sophisticated things then just /tell. So if youre botting an autoexec will not always be the cure.

When I was fishing in Nashmau, GMs used to pop up boxes on my screen "Are you botting? yes/no?" Good thing I wasnt so I just laughed about it and selected "no". But some people are afraid of those popup boxes cause you cant take countermeasures like autoexec etc.

Also wtf happened at Hakuryu. In January I was the only one in the zone. Now I came back and 20 mules are fishing there. lol... off to gugrusaurus. 25k a pop is yummy.
