I just find it odd that so many people didn't think to press the print screen button. I've only talked to a GM a handful of times over the years, and have only been personally visited by one twice, both times of which I grabbed a few screenshots. I definitely would have thought to take a screenshot of an irregularity like a prompt box. Not that my behavior discounts what anyone has said, I'm just surprised.

Someone will have to sell it to me. I still need to get my final GP purchase, saving the worst for last: Frog Fishing. It would bother me not to have it. Need to move onto Gold GP though. Ugh.

I also could get some aquariums and fish bowls, and maybe a fish on the wall, but I don't know that I want the fish theme too drawn out. Then again, fuck knows I've spent enough time with fishing...

Frog fishing was useful once in history for me, tricorn were fishing competition fish lol. I made some nice gil selling those!

Almost sounds like a personal vendetta there if this hasn't been seen on other servers recently.

edit: also got mule pelican ring, 5.2 skill levels, and opal silk yesterday...was a good fishing day! He's at 46 fishing skill, time to fish gugs.

Well he's claiming it's the entire zone. And when I stopped fishing on both characters he didn't bother my second one for awhile even after I turned it back on so I'd assume that means he went to someone else. SGM at that lol.

Maybe the GMs really do just hate me (or someone that does is telling GMs on me). Funny thing is I haven't been fishing nearly as much lately

What are the items to extend my time to fish Gugrusaurus on the Aht Urghan > Mhuara boat? I'm trying for Ebisu for mule...first time I simply bought fish, trying to do this one on my own. I have ebisu on main, but having a difficult time reeling them in. They always like 1/2 done when I run out of time. I don't time out on Lik at all. Is it Noddy/Puffin ring to do this? I've always been a fish for npc gil/fish for cooking guys, never done many hard fish before. Kinda feel out of my league.

Noddy/puffin do exactly what they say. To reel in those gugru's you'll either need the ex bait and mooching or Penguin Ring/Albatross Ring

Well that's disappointing. Same for the gugs during pirate rides on Selbina > Mhuara ferry? I've heard they are easier.

You can catch the other gug's without rings or ex bait if you have ebisu's. But it's definitely worth the time to get the rings. Should only need 1 of them with ebisu. But yeah spend a little time getting a ring that lasts 180 runs where you will definitely have gug's biting... or waste most your boat trips because pirates aren't attacking... or just get a bot that can pull them in regardless lol. That's best since you can use puffin/noddy to increase bite rate

Orz...the acceptance of botting has become so widespread, makes me /sad. However, I appreciate your info. Is one of the rings particularly easier to obtain? I've been reading since you responded first time, apparently they only come from fights from inside the belly pirate chart/brigand's chart fights. Is one or the other fight easier?

Depends on what you have available. Both cap you and your pt at 20.

Brigand's chart just requires you to pull in at 4-5 bites when you are barely given enough time to get 5 in if you react to everything pretty much immediately and chances are you will pull up at least 1 monster. Having an outside person to get them can be useful having a carbuncle out could get you enough time. Actually fighting on the character fishing isn't really an option. 4-5 pull can have ring

Pirates chart spawns 3 NMs that all hundred after taking a bit of dmg fist and only fightable by the pt. iirc max pt size for it is 3. 2 astral flows will kill all or mostly kill all. Therefore it is theoretically possible to solo though extremely hard. Best to just get 2 smn and 2hr. Just make sure the other one knows what to do. I've lost a few because of smn doing stupid stuff. Like desmning so they can get more mp for astral flow while there was only 1 mob left at 2% that was hundred fisting... refresh drinks good. Also you are given a bit of time to buff/smn after starting it take advantage of that. Mobs don't spawn till the little taru in the scene falls over dead. You can leave the battlefield area for this but unlike most other things like this the range is really huge. After you win you get a box that contains stuff like ring and maybe even Mkris
