Anyone know the best bait for giant chirai? Tried troutballs and a fly lure but no dice. Thinking maybe its just a crappy bite rate.

I'd be curious what the biggest fish you catch is. I'm sitting on a 174 for this contest.

By 174 do you mean that's how many points you got or actually size? And is it weight or length? Also wiki seems more or less accurate on the range of fish sizes

More or less agree, generally you can catch larger than wiki, but only by a few digits. As for puffin, its held steady around 1m on odin for awhile. If you calculate the amount of time it takes to fish up all the line breaking crocs and then get "lucky" enough with zaldon it may be even? I've gotten 4ish puffin rings and it seems like the average is around 1/50-60 for me. What kind of results have you guys seen, and I dont mean LOL 1/3 BRO, SHITS EASY TO GET.

I've fished up 4 and it took overall around 120ish fish. Small sample size I know but only fished for them twice. Kinda weird cause both times I took a couple of trips into abyssea fishing and get nothing. And then on the last trip would get 2 rings lol

They seem to fish up decently faster than Hakryu so yeah definitely making out if you can get them to sell. I just never bothered back when they were only 200kish since that wasn't as fast as npcing

I was doubting wiki because it said 171 was the highest, and I got 174 very quickly. Just luck I suppose.

Edit: Just did 88 more min of fishing. Got 30 fish and from that 2 more rings

Lucky... tell that to my latest ebisu rod. Didn't keep close count but it was over 900 fish total . But still finished waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before I got enough guild points. But finally get to pick it tomorrow yays

I'm new to the whole fishing thing, I've got a question about the contest. I turned in a Gavial that came in @ like 774 points and it says Ranking: X on it, do the rankings just not show up before the end of the contest or is my fish not good enough to be in the top 20 atm?

It just means it can't be resubmitted to the rankings. You have submitted it and they mark it and give it back.

You also don't need it anymore, sell it on the AH, some poor sap will get it and not be able to use it!
