I did try meatballs because that's what I had on me (and I forgot to change bait), but I switched to minnows after about 10 minutes and no bites.

Well see 2 guys there 1 using trout and 1 using minnow. I'm using minnow so I'll see what I get in the morning then try trout I guess... though being fishing really need several sessions to draw real conclusions lol.

So fair it's been like 50-60% dark bass

If that's anywhere near average that's really good I'd say. I'll send one of my chars out to try them today. Where do u fish them up? Hell I can even try sinking minnows if we want to compare.

The lake in Jugner Forest [S]. I ran from the campaign fort teleport, though I'm sure you could go in from Ronfaure as well. They're remarkably easy to catch for a legendary. I went out last night for a short stint, only 15 minnows, and ended up with 12 fish, 15 line snaps, and one "lack of skill." Was about 2 hours of fishing, moon was 29-26% as I fished.

I figure they'll probably stabalize around ebisu fish price of 20k. not worth doing for 10-15k imo.

If the results I got were indicative of a normal run I'm not sure they would be worth it over hak's at 20k

My guy has been fishing them recently, definitely a worse rate than Haks and the AH is already tanking with so many people fishing them. Even if they were to stabilize around 20k, the reason Haks are so alluring is because you can just NPC them and not wait for shiz to sell on auction >< I always hated having full inventory for weeks++

Yeah, I figure 25k or so is the bare minimum to sell at for it to be worthwhile. Even if you have to go through the AH, they will sell fast.

On the flipside recall jugner means you can get to Abaias in a fraction of the time compared to haks

Seems like just like liks/gugs, Abaias will only be profitable if you have the contacts to set up direct buyers, like I do on my server.

I have always found liks/gugs to be substantially faster money than Hakuryus, but thats because instead of spending weeks on the AH I move them to one person in my large network of buyers within 20 minutes of finishing catching my fish. Already I've got a few contacts for Abais and Im making substantially more money on them than Hakuryus or even Liks for the matter.

But I suppose if a person didnt have a bunch of people to instantly sell fish too, then obviously the ability to sell to hakuryus to NPCs would make them the better fish

They well pretty quickly on AH and are in constant demand. At least it's another money-making option.

Idk about your server but mine the price is dropping fast. And there are tons up. And of course lucky broth is staying the same. Think I'll just lvl cooking on a mule since I could can use them and ingredients are easy for me to get compared to Dippers

Is this actually a good pet or just the omgrush of update?

I played with it a bit the other day. Just eyeballing but it seemed to die faster and do about the same dmg. But has better tp moves

Yuly is more evasive, but Falcorr has more DD capability. IIRC Fantod doubles the damage of the next attack which can be a triple attack, crit or both. Occasional triple crits for double damage with the right atmas in abyssea... game over man.

Back on topic, I finally picked up my Ebisu today. Yeah I know, but holidays coming up. Anyway, first cast landed me an Abaia! No gear, no stall and probably no more bites for 3 days to compensate for the dumb luck haha
