So looks like cooking them might be better than synergy. Like 7/35 HQ rate and that's with making sure they all were within 1.... which is more headache than it's worth imo

My 120 synergy results are 99 nq, 17 hq1, 4 hq2, 0 hq3 - 6.4 per synth (and I'm no synergy pro). Cooking's t2 expected return of 4.7 divided by synergy's 120 synth average return of 6.4 is .73. Guess the golden question is if you value the convenience of synthesis enough to eat the 25% loss in yield per fish. Speaking of convenience, synths take a mindless 20-30 seconds, while a synergization takes 2 minutes if you're lucky, and can be quite annoying/frustrating if you aren't.

I suppose one could also argue that you could cook 40 abaia and go catch a few more in the time you could synergize 40 times. At 2 mins a synergization, that's 80 minutes of fishing lost after all. Lastly, picking up crystals off the AH is a snap compared to making your own fewell if there's none available.

Synergizing Abaia seems like a waste of time spent at keyboard the more I think about it. If I wanted to profit by being present, I'd be in Dynamis. Or cleaning out my inventory, which is a goddamn mess.

Also forgetting that most people who fishbot can also craftbot, which really means wake up, go back to town, setup in moghouse and craft away while you eat breakfast.

Well regular crafting is easy. Can do alot completely legit paying almost no attention to the game while doing other stuff.... synergy on the other hand ewww

It's the one major down side to having 70/80 of your safe being furniture.

Why do you have so much of your safe loaded with furniture? Is there a bonus I don't know about to loading up? I only have a few pieces and it gets me 80 storage and keeps my Mega moglification, but is there something else I should be doing? I use the stall, a few 9 drawer thingies and a few cabinets and that gets me full storage. I think it's only 7 or 8 pieces total.

Also wanted to send a big thanks to you guys for the guidance on skilling up. Getting close to 100 and barring a catastrophe with my internet, tomorrow's fish will land me Serpent Rumors so I can actually put the silk and shoot to use.

ive seen mention of people waking up with a bag full of fish, and how do you guys do this without being busted? ive been picked up by "random sweeps" twice over the years (different accounts)

Actually you don't even need that necessarily. You could just set tells to chime and train yourself to wake up to that sound. Or be a light sleeper or just not really care lol

I'm sure there's a plugin/3rd party that can set the chime upon receiving tell to repeat. Or max your volume so the first beep does the trick.

I know some bots have alarms and can take actions based on things like tells or say etc.

Elite/Wiz chat detection can kill the bot based on receiving any tell, or you can set it to "you cannot fish here", being checked, "GM" etc. Can also crash the game for you as well

Google FFXIAlarm. Its on a google code page. In the bug tracker I've recompiled it to work with the most recent update. Also, it can loop a sound until you come back to keyboard.

Yeah, they ask you to stop fishing, turn and face them and sometimes wave. They need some interaction to prove you're not AFK botting...
