Is Noddy Ring worth getting? I remember testing showing the Fisherman's Apron was pretty worthless because it just turned items into no bites. Is Noddy different or does it just do the same thing for monsters?

Even if that was true which I doubt fishermans apron would still be worth using. But yes noddy noticably helps.

Noddy probably does same thing, however monsters, unlike items, consume bait. This make's it substantially more useful.

However in the long run apron actually saves you about an entire secon each time it procs, so over the course of years of fishing it's probably shaved off a rather fair amount of fishing time :3

Any hidden redeeming value to Waders? The Fishing Skill alone isn't enough to keep them aboard my main... Until SE releases the 99 cap superfish!

Also, is that Fisher's Rope beneficial to anything but enhanced message rate?

Compare that to the amount of time it took you to fish + turn in all of the GP for apron!

Can someone verify that you can get Opal Silk/Saber Shoot WITHOUT the key item by trading fish to be gutted?

Yes. My last ebisu I had both items before I got KI. Still need it to flag quest to turn them in though. If you got a decent supplier it's much faster to get the items than getting the gp lol

Got both of my key items without even having the rank to get the KI. Got my first item around 60 fishing skill, my second at like 74ish. Only had 50k gp by the second item.

With how packed the glacier is getting i wouldn't be surprised to see the fish getting nerfed soon, i simply refuse to make anyone else a rod these days.

Ya know over the last few months I know I have personally finished a good 5 peoples rods. And yet I see people in glacier less and less everyday now. And I don't see them selling the fish for it... and based on the 200 or so gugrusaurus I've been bazaaring everyday for the last week I'd say it's not them selling elsewhere. And I sell decent amounts of lucky broth too... so idk seems like alot of people I get them for don't really use it that much. Like just an easy way to pay for their food or something!?!

And yeah last rod I got one of the items at 28 fishing skill... had some leftover from a buyer that finished lol

Used to fish 1-2M a day in '04 for 8-10h work.

Now you fish 1.5M a day for near 24h work.

Only time fishing wasn't profitable was during RMT, and even then there were craft fish to nab up like Black Sole.

Idk I always get 200 if I do full 24 hours. Even with regular minnow I can hit 200 in a day

Though now between ebisu fish and aba I don't even do Hak much anymore. Assuming you can sell them or make and sell lucky broth you still do 1-2 mil in 8-10. You just have to have ebisu rod.

Yeah I'm just pointing out that I doubt a nerf is incoming. If they do, whatevs, back to other stuff until the next money fish is discovered.

I sorta doubt it too. Though partly for other reasons. Mostly because while it is very easy afk it still relatively speaking very slow money. I mean a good cruor pt nets you over 500k an hour per character. And that's far from best unless you got alot of characters. Though I heard of an old friend that was doing that and just afking like 12 other accounts in the pt lol... guy had billions of gil
