    Oxymoron it does sound like but I swear that must be all my clients. Either that or they got me to make them ebisus without knowing where the money fish for ebisu users are.

    I can see it as a completion piece for someone who manually took fishing to 100 in their free time, I guess. Dream about it as a newbie, and today it's achievable within what, 10 dynamis runs worth of currency converted into fish?

    Personally they lose me somewhere between wanting an Ebisu so bad they'd actually go through the torture of getting one, and not using that desire as impetus to skill 90-100 off Ebisu fish and do it themselves. At least the Lik half; I was a legit fisher until Gugs required me to CPUKill my FPS just to compete, and it was a slippery slope from there.

    Though I will say that the 'unfair advantage' argument is losing a lot of its potency when others now tri-box dynamis for more currency per man-hour than I could dream of. Compared to that guy (who for rationalization's purposes, bought those accounts, and is using them assisted by third parties), Haking all night is just catching up to the unfair advantage he gets in Dynamis. I know it doesn't hold up to an outsider's scrutiny (who would logically point out we both have an unfair return on our man-hours invested over Joe Singlebox who plays on PS2/360), but at least fishing isn't the only rampant 3rd party assisted for-profit pursuit any more.

    What do you guys think, is double instancing an unfair advantage, where do you draw that line?

    Well really even joe singlebox has an advantage over hak fishers. In his 2 hour dynamis run followed by some bazaaring or shouting he might make as much or almost as much as you do with a full day of fishing lol.

    Tbh I find it ironic that the anti-botting update that made you have to lower the fishes stamina has probably caused more people to bot than any rmt group ever has

    Yeah, a good DNC can pull 200+ a run. I don't really care what people do, but I'm also not going to be selling people any Ebisu fish.

    @Dasva, the standard player doesn't have an unfair advantage over hak fishers, everyone has Dynamis farming as an option.

    Not everyone. One of my mules litterally can't even start zilart missions because it's stuck on some glitch on windy mission 2-1 and SE still hasn't even sent word that they are working on it for about 6-7 months now. Actually both my mules are stuck on it but luckily the other one got zilart started with sandy. That being said it is neither geared or skilled up to do much other than support my main. In a similar way other people aren't properly geared/fish up to fish Hak's. Now sure a less than ideal person can still do dynamis for less though a mule likely isn't that skilled but then again sometimes moat carp is selling high enough that a lvl 0 fisher can make money almost as fast as a Hak fisher if only for a couple of hours a day lol

    Pay for more accounts, get more loot. I don't think that's unfair. What I do think is unfair is how on a good PC it's not humanly possible for a 68 fisher to manually catch his rankup Bladefish without streaming like 8 porn videos at once in the background!

    Seems like that would cause a distraction and make it harder to reel in, for all different reasons.

    Damorik buys out all the sinking and NQ minnows for basically full price, all the time. He's in procthefail, just sayin. I literally have to use mules to camp the boats and watch prices to buy anything for any sort of decent price. Luckily, before he started being stupid I was able to amass a large collection of bait (1200+ sinking minnows) for 1.5k or less. This is probably what caused his stupidity in the first place though, me buying everything when it was cheap for a week straight and basically getting it all. lol

    EDIT:::

    To comment on this, it depends heavily on how much you can buy each bait for. Sinking minnows will hook more hakuryus, but they will also break more often and cost a lot more. From my 5 day straight parse of 2 fishers with 100 base skill, +6 in items, stall+big one. Sinking minnows net you about 1 more hakuryu an hour and lose you 1 more bait. So its like, per hour, 10 fish NQ vs 11 S, 5 lost bait NQ vs 6 lost bait S.

    for 1 hour of fishing:
    104,900gil NQ
    -5 bait

    115,390gil S
    -6 bait

    300 gil minnows = 1500 gil, so for an hour of NQ minnows you make 103,400 gil.
    1k sinking minnows = 6000 gil, so for an hour of S minnows you make 109,390 gil.
    1.5k sinking minnows = 9000 gil, so for an hour of S minnows you make 106,390 gil.
    1.8k sinking minnows = 10800 gil, so for an hour of this price, you make 104,590 gil.

    What it basically comes out to based solely on my 5 straight days of parsing NQ vs S and nothing else, you need to buy sinking minnows within 1200 gil of NQ minnows for them be slightly better/even, and if they're more then that, you shouldn't even bother. Also, if your skill is below this, then sinking minnows hold absolutely no benefit for you, they just cost more and break more often and don't get you more fish, and you shouldn't even bother with them.

    I use 1200 not 1500 because sinking didn't really net me 11 hakuryus an hour compared to NQs 10, it was like like 10.8.

    EDIT#2:::
    Another thing I think people should remember for those overcrowded servers, is that if you're using your ebisu's to look for bait, and you pass up slightly more expensive bait to try and find cheap bait, you're only hurting yourself. Every 30 minutes you spend out hunting minnows is 50k you're losing by not fishing. So buying those 1500 minnows and just going back to fishing is going to end up better for you then spending an hour or more trying to ride different boats and find cheap bait.

    Has anyone ever gone through all the other baits to see if they bite anything else?

    My guess would be a gutted bait is the other option, but I'm pretty sure all fish have a lure / live bait combo.

    There are stackable baits that work on Hakuyru, but you would probably have to devote a mule to fishing up the ingredients. I can average 10 Haks an hour with Sardine balls, but it takes quite a bit of bait because you lose it when you release. I did them overnight with 13 stacks of sardine balls, and I still had like 2 stacks left when I woke up.

    I just used 60 sardine balls and caught 5 hakuryus on a 93+4+stall+big one fisher, in like an hour.

    EDIT, It was like 45 minutes actually lol. So for catch rate they're probably pretty close to minnows.

    Better way to parse it would be to find out what your bite/cast is. With minnow/sinking minnow, Haks are 1/10~11 bites per cast. Minnow catches a lot more fish, but the bite rate is still the same. (This is at 92+6+Ebisuskill)

    If you are getting a better rate with bait, then it might be worth the effort to use it.

    I'll gladly pay inflated prices for minnows, problem is I can't even find any at inflated prices. This morning I woke up and checked guild - out of stock. Came home, checked guild - out of stock, waited for Selbina>Mhaura boat, checked, out of stock.

    Also to note minnows also win if you litterally have all day to fish as long as they are cheaper because you will barely cap with minnows

    I meant as far as that whole parse vs cost math. Just in case people were taking as only if they cost this vs that should you buy.

    Sardine balls, slice of bluetail, and slice of cod all work as far as I know.
