Just a little something I found out today, not sure if it's been discussed yet (prolly already have to death), but I forgot to switch my moghancement back to megamog fishing (from stall) and my line breaks increased ridiculously! before I would get about 100+haks for maybe 55-65 baits and now I'm @56 haks with 50baits gone ; ;

Two questions. Firstly, for times when I can't get hold of a heap of minnows for whatever reason, are there any other fish people tend to do instead that's moderately easy and possibly stackable? Just seems a waste to not use up my daily fishing quota if I could still make 100-200k on another fish. I looked at maybe Black Sole/Dil but is there anything better?

Secondly, only just got Serpent Rumors about 2 weeks ago and just picked up the 100>110 rank up KI the other day. I have no other GP items/KIs, is there any perticular order I should pick up the rest and any stuff I should ignore?

Get Emblem, make stall, then get Apron/Waders at your leisure.

I don't think any stackable fish really gets you the gil/hr really. I do the ebisu fish and ryuga titans sometimes.

Holy shit the stall is only 15k GP and gives +5 Skill. Did not know that. Does it give it on it's own without needing to be paired with another item? Also, will it's Mega Moglification take precedence over any other house mogenhancement/moglification? IE: Is it pointless to eventually get the other GP fishing furnishings?

Do you get a lot of line breaks with titans? It's just for times when I can't be bothered camping minnows, so something with easily obtainable/stackable bait would be a plus. I figure Sole/Dil would make me about 130-140k a night. It's not a lot, but free money and otherwise I'd be logged off with 0k.

Not alot of line breaks with titans at max skill, but the bite rate blows ass. Titanicus eat up most your bait.

Yes it overwrites though I don't know if any testing has shown if the rest help with it. Or if we can actually find a method to test it lol

Well it would take me ages to get enough GP for them after Stall>Apron>Waders anyway I guess. Are either of Mooching or Frog Fishing important too?

Mooching is pointless, and Frog Fishing only enables you to catch one fish (Tricorn), which is only used for the Fishing Competition.

I'd do waders last 1 more skill is meh. Apron is pretty nice though at times.

Mooching is funny because you used to have to have it to get ebisu now pretty much worthless unless they make another fish that needs it. Or make matsaya worth doing (that does need it right? it does use the ex bait after all)

So am I right in thinking the max skill you can get is 122 (+less items (apron) + less monsters (ring) + more big fish (ring)) with stall/waders/apron/hands/feet/torque?

And for Waders vs Apron, does the decreased items = more haks enough to be more worthwhile over +1 skill from waders (obv. assuming both eventually, but until then)? Right now I'm a lazy unemployed bum so can fish all over night until midday+, but after I start my next job at the end of june I'll only be able to fish until about 7-8am instead of 12ish.

I went with apron over waders, plus you can make it into a smock if you find a synergist.

ebisu was tested to give around 46 skill, so add that on top of the skill max (even though its not shown).

Some debate on the Ebisu skill since the tests work on some fish but not others. Either way it has some odd impact that causes auto-depletion earlier than if you were to fish the same fish at the same level with Lu Shangs.

Also Get stall, make/buy the big one for easier MH furniture use while keeping megamog fishing and then decide if you want to bother with apron. I have 2 ebisu mules who have stall + big one and puffin/noddy & AH fishing skill gear. I honestly think skill matters very, very, very little, I just wear the skill gear so it looks like I give a shit.

haks have been tearing apart my lures lately. got 1 for every 4 lures last night...I did better when i had fishing skill in the 90's. lolfishing skill? bah.

Idk it's hard to say for now but I've been running parses and my lvl 110s seem to be doing better than my 100. I'll post more when I think I have enough. What you think 30k casts per character sound good? Also planning on comparing with minnows too on each character
