It's not.
It's not.
Ya know I hadn't thought about that. In fact the only mule that I craft with that doesn't have an ebisu's is on my account... guess I'll get it for myself first and see
jp wiki is reporting that Shaper's Shawl does, in fact, come from Matsya.

Now if it's possible to mail via Delivery Box to your mules, it'll be golden.
Any idea how many fish it took to get the drop?
I wonder if we as fishers can make money off this damn fish.
Still like/gug average of 5 per hour at 30k each = 150k/hr
this fish would have to net 300k to come close to the per hour... if not more.
Just did 60 caves > 21 pugil > 3 Malsya lol 0/4 on cape now
Nice that something good is in a fish for us, but given the fact that most crafters would kill for the Shaper's, but don't have the fishing skill to get it seems like a very odd thing. The number of folks who can get one is small.
Shit I get like 10 lik per hour and just a little less gug. Almost wish it didn't make money just so only ebisu fishers will get it lol. Also I'd put it at more like 500k per fish (and that's compared to hak fishing) unless you can have another character sleeping the mobs (hard to figure out values then) and 1% gut rate.
Also I'd say he probalby did put stuff back in his inventory. I mean look at the random equipment not equiped. I mean who the fuck turns in fishes with atheling mantle moogle hat trick staff rajas ring and random scroll in their invent?
How many mobs are there that need to be fished up/held to guarantee you are hooking a fish or an item??
4 unless they changed it since I last did it like 3-4 years ago lol.
Also 3 people just joined my 2 mules at fountain of kings. Loved that spot since no one came to it![]()
Do you need Mooching to be able to get the bait for fishing Matsya?
iirc mooching just makes it so that when you use the ex bait your time you have to catch the fish is extended. Back when it came out that was the only way of actually landing ebisu fish and matsya without bots.
Side note I don't want to sound like that guy who jumps to conclusions with bite rates but this is a little too crazy for me not to wonder but has anyone noticed a better bite rate on CC? I ask because when I did it for a couple of months back in the day it took me 20-22 hours to get to cap and turn fish even with 2 trips cause of invent even taking off say 2 hours for travel and some synthing of meatballs and trades that's still at least 18 hours for 200 fish. I'm about 4 hours in now and have almost exactly 200 between my 2 mules fishing <.<
1/60 on plumb boots.
I haven't had a chance to hook a Matsya yet. How do they fight when on the hook? I don't use bots or anything, but I'd still like to know what I'm getting myself into before attempting to try and get capes for me and my LS members.
so I've seen some numbers flying around haphazardly about the estimated total cost of a shaping shawl, however, I'm interested in what most fishermen think they will charge on a per fish basis. I would expect something along the lines of
cost per matsya = 1.5-2 x number of haku per day x NPC price of haku / number of matsya
But I could be off on the market for the fish. And of course, I don't know how many of each fish a fisherman could expect to see per day. Trying to estimate on a per fish basis how much this is gonna cost me.
I had to laugh when someone in /l chat last night said "I can't be bothered to spend that much on that cape. It would cost less to level a craft 1-100!" Oh my naive friend who hasn't experienced 100-110 yet. (I had told him that I planned on needing to spend at least 10 mil on it, considering the "inside the belly" gutting rate on ebisu items, and what the item would be worth to me)
Based on what people are posting, it seems like getting 6 Matsya in a day would be lucky (including farming the EX bait). Considering that you have to run around instead of just sitting there spamming in one spot (aka full botting) and considering that they're going to be less reliable, I'd assume that they will cost more than Haks would pull in over the same period of time.
10.5k*8*24 = 6*X
X = 336k
Include running around annoyance and I probably wouldn't fish these for someone unless they were offering 400k each. You get 12.5k of that back per Matsya you turn in. Also, the cape is not deliverable between accounts so multiple mules cannot use it. At that price (and assuming the probable 1% drop rate), this cape would cost 40mil.
As a crafter, the only justification I would have for this is the impending increase to 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, etc. craft skill level. I would almost buy it for 40mil even though the increase in skillup rate is probably negligible, if just as insurance for the future.
