I think you mean anything in there because as a blanket statement that isn't true. However no did it alot back at 75 no aggro most of the time. That along with the fact no was at that spot compared to the over made it my favorite (that and really close to Outpost). That being said if someone goes there for missions shit will aggro you
Mooching necessary for matsyas?
mostly get mine there too
going back to promoting this once gotten to help sales might be harder than it sounds. Problem we run into is having even current skillup rate enough to even see a difference especially since most likely be small sample.
To kinda illistrate this I've crafted 3 crafts past 100. Bone to 105 was around 1/3-1/4. Gold to 104 was 1/4ish. Cooking to 100-105 was litterally under 10%. From 105-110 I litterally used a little over 40 stacks of cerberus meat. So about 10% as well. If each craft or maybe even recipe do it a little different or alot like cooking was would be hard to compile.
Also it would be damn hard to say measure the difference between 1/3 and 1/4. But that small gain would cut the amount of synths needed by 25% which is kinda nice
Found another one!
Guy has a few Matsyas in his bazaar for 1m too.
Sweet!
All right tried some. 2 mules fishing together while main held the others. 264 CC > 73 pugils > 8 matysa. No back of course but 100k consulation from zaldon!
Further breakdown of the bait used up. 5 monsters 26 line breaks 34 jellyfish. So factoring out the monsters exactly 1/2 the bait went to matsya (much better than 1/3-1/4 I used to get) however 3/4 of those still snapped like I remember.
Also something to note I pulled up around 170ish items in this time.... much more than I remembered and yes I was using apron. This might make the idea of fishing bait a few days to do a whole bunch of these at once somewhat problematic as this was 65% of a days cap worth of CC per character to get enough bait to get them half way to the cap. And while I didn't count items before I would usually take 4-5 days worth of bait and not reach fatigue. Also I hadn't figured out to reel in items at first and I can definitely tell you I didn't run out of bait at the rediculous speed I would've this time if I hadn't.
So in conclusion from this smallish sample I've seen and the little bit I've read it seems like the almost everything from bites to breaks to turn in is the same as years ago when this was pointless except catch rate of CC is thru the room and it seems like the replaced a shit ton of no catches to items to basically penalize the smart fishers who try to save their bait (either that or mooching actually effected things though I find that doubtful)
Also those mobs hurt a bit harder than I expected considering the leeches were ep/dc at 75 and everything else was lower. Like 0-13 normal crits for more. Screwdriver was hitting upwards of 100 sometimes. Which adds up over time with 5 mobs if you aren't paying attention and hoping your composure phalanx holds you thru for 7 minutes. This was with 650ish def and 39 pdt (45 at night) and a 435 skill phalanx. regen 2 mostly covered unless they leeches got acid mist happy which due to my forgetting shell and no mdt hit for like 100-200ish lol.
I have a small sample size.
Fished up 23 Cave Cherax this evening, got 12 Dwarf Pugils.
1 Matsya, 5 Cobalt Jellyfish (annoying), 2 mobs, 4 Line Snaps. I'm guessing that's about par for the course?
**Edit** - And I forgot to mention a metric fuckton of Rusty Buckets, Rusty Leggings, and Rusty Subligar. Grand total I must have tossed about 25 rusty items.
Fished up mobs increase in strength every 10 or so minutes. You can reset their strength by zoning them (e.g. zone, wait about 10 seconds, re-zone and let them re-aggro the character holding them).
Also, a bit of obvious advice, but something that might be overlooked: If you're going to fish up mobs and hold them, don't waste your ex bait doing so. Use some other cheap bait/lures that will only target mobs in the area.
I'm getting about 20-25 cherax an hour.
And for those asking earlier about how hard it was to fish up matsya, I'd add that I do have mooching, so that may make it significantly easier for me.
dont all E rod holders have mooching? I mean it was a must way back when.
also how long does it take to cap out on CC in total for one account? if I have like 6~8 hours in a given day that I can play could I cap out on 1 account and gain use from having a second account?
I have a 2nd 75 account I might turn back on. Id need to get it to 30 fishing, key items and get more E-rod items. is it worth it? I fish on a normal day 2-3 hours a day but once a week I have more time. Could I gain use?
it help with holding mobs too ~_~ hes a rdm lol
Tried some more Matsya today, went with 53 baits and caught 11 (pretty good imo). Still no cape though, puts me at 0/14.
Everyone turning in for the cape can we aim to keep track? When I'm home latter I'm back peddle the thread to see what we have so far.
So far the thread is 0/48
I tried catching monsters first with other bait but after 30min on 2 characters I figure it wasn't worth it as the 5 bait I'd lose to monsters would've only taken me that long to get... in fact it took me almost an hour to get my first monster lol. Doing the math even using a guy to hold mobs it would take about 350-400k per fish to break even.
As far as mooching I doubt it. You only needed it pre toau. And I know there wasn't many ebisu back then. I mean think of how bad gugru is right now. Now imagine you can only catch them on a ferry with aggro and only when pirates don't attack. Now imagine it taking you on average 1-2 hours to get 1 bait for it and I think several fish bite that bait...
So far we're 0/50
Spoiler: show
I don't have Mooching, so I needed to use Albatross ring charge.
However, I was able to deplete Matsya health rather easy. I was pleasantly surprised since I'm only @ 91 fishing.
I only managed to land 1 Matsya though, and it was empty, so I'm at 0/1
