Alot of debate on best. Kida's guide is really good for skilling up and general info. I've done 4 characters to 100+ and tried a couple of things. Last time I did it I got from 0-90ish (whatever nashmau cap is) in around 2weeks using 1 skill up ring. By you should try to get skillup ring it basically doubles your skill up rate and you got another 7 days to turn fish in for this cycle. Anyways last time I did moat carp to 11, Papira to about 29, black eel to around mid to late 30s, shall shell to 53, silver shark till around 60 then to nashmau with shrimp lure you pull up Mercanbaligi (caps at 86) and Ahtapot (caps at 90). Then just chill there till you get the gp and the items for ebisu

Yes but it's not attempts it's stuff reeled in. Took me around 2 weeks burning that ring to get to 90ish but really for the most part all you should really care about speed wise is getting to around 60 to fish nashmau good since that's the fastest money you'll get till you get ebisu and you will skill up so fast that you wont have the gp for it before then. Getting from there to 100 will just be normal money fishing so no need to worry about it.

Hakryu fishing is about 100k/hr because they npc for about 10k each. That's around 2mil a day. You can make a little more with the new fish or the fish used to get ebisus if you have one but you need to find buyers for that.

Yes serpent rumors is a must. Mooching might be useful if you end up doing Matsya

I think my guide is in one of the stickies, but it's pretty much the buy a Lu - lazy mans guide to Nashmau. Serpent Rumors is really the only KI you *need*. Start doing GPs as soon as possible, and don't skip days. Also figure out your plan to get an ebisu, fishing without an ebisu is like flying a kite rather than a jet, you can tell your friends it's fun, but it's not going to get you anywhere.

100% on this? I know fishing with full inventory is like 1/2 a fish for each catch. As well as items.

Is Mooching needed for having enough time to reel in Matsya or reasonable enough without?

Right now I'm reeling them in about 2-3 seconds after getting the don't know how much longer you can hold it message. Which probably meant it was impossible before they capped frame rate without cheating

Well this was kinda a rough run.

337 bait between 2 fishers took a little under 7 hours to use. 5 went to monsters, 125 went to line snaps, 170 went to jellyfish and 37 went to caught fish. Normal jellyfish to matsya but god that 77% break rate killed me. Maybe it's the new moon? Idk.

Side note between the 2 characters I reeled in 5 monsters, 42 fish (accidentally reeled in 5 jellies), and 543 items @.@. None of my characters were fully fatigued though so gunna try some CCs later lol


Also 14 trades in got shawl!!! So another 1/14 for the running total if anyones still keeping it. And looking thru my old posts that puts me at 1/54

Uggg messed that up was 337 not 237 making my jelly/matsya kinda normal. As far as how long was off and on fishing for 3-4 days with 2 characters. Trading took forever though ugggg

oh damn Id go crazy with that much fishing. I was thinking of doing it on my rdm but I said screw it after I noticed that I have a hard time(and many times) capping off one account a day.

whats the point tho? Skill is not all that important for fishing and you make gil along the way. I see little reason to skill up off to smalls really.

important factors in order:
-rod:E-rod and Lu shang will make way more impact on your per day gil then anything else
-moon: This still matter? I think lol I could be wrong
-facing the right way to factor in the sky and whatever(joking lol)
-fishing hat
-skill

Skill has little to do with anything so why skill up when you can make gil doing so anyways lol?

Moon and skill matter somewhat. But that being said it's not enough to change what you are doing. Because sure you could wait for a better moonphase to fish but then you are just waisting time you could of fished to fish faster at another time and in the end still end up with less fish. Focusing on too much on skilling up can have you trading making money to making alot less money so it balances out. Obviously some exceptions like say even though it's good money don't stay at moat carp lol. And skilling to get a better money fish around the corner of course would be worth it. But skilling up solely to get a slightly better bite/snap rate over going for money fish would only be worth it if you don't plan on ever getting an ebisu
