Yeah if you actually fishing them to sell for 300k... you might be a dumb fisherman
Just hit 90 and got Ebisu. Which is the best options for skillup and making some decent gil. I can craft meatballs and minnows myself. I figured these are my 3 best options
-Lik and/or Gugru and bazaar
-Hakuryu and NPC
-Armored Pisces and NPC
Also, what kind of furniture will help fishing?
haks haks haks. Did i mention haks? Because those are good. yeah, haks.
Thanks. I guess that shows Ebisu doesn't grant skill, but instead, has some sort of "Within X range, get bonus properties" effect.
1/206 on shapers shawl! Was kinda cool, I fished 9 out of 60 bait today. A couple years ago I was trading in my gugs for my 2nd item and got it while I was on the phone with my sister. She was gonna call tonight so I waited for her call before I traded and got it on my 9th trade. lol pretty stoked, now to find something else to obsess about!
Two questions:
Do I need mooching for Matsya? I'm still working on my apron and it's gonna be awhile before I'll have enough.
Is there some kind of soft-cap on some fish still? Like Liks/Gugs and only being able to catch 50 or something in a day, I remember something from forever ago about it but I'm not sure if it's still a thing and I can't seem to find confirmation either way.
No.
And what you are describing is usually termed the hard cap. And it's 200 fish without ebisu forget how many with. Less if you kill fish. Only 10 if you are under lvl 20 or account is less than 2 weeks old. Pretty easy to find that info it's kinda in every fishing thing lol.
That's not what I was talking about at all, actually. The 200 fish cap is the hard-cap, yes (and is not reduced by canceling a fish-catch), I'm talking about the old soft-cap for specific fish (like Liks and Gugs) that used to make you only able to catch so many of those in a given day outside the hard-cap.
ive noticed some wonky things when fishing - like hitting fatigue after only about 50 fish - i will start getting the you must wait longer message. however i am still able to fish. zoning fixes the problem completely. i think you could probably fish 400 in a day if you sat yourself in a zone and caught no fish. waited till next jp midnight then start fishing - catch 200 fish then zone. zone back in catch 200 more. its not really an advantage necessarily - but an option if you dont have the time to fish on a particular day.
Um the 200 is only fish you actually reel in, canceling and even line breaks don't count. I've been fishing since like 04 and I've never heard of what you talked about caps for specific fish. What was generally called the soft cap was the whole having to zone or only have items on the line. Which a very long time ago got changed to only having longer wait times. But it's only a 3-4 seconds at most.
And yeah I have done the 400 fish in a day like sluggo described lol. Minus the zoning. Gotta love moat carp bite rate.
Spending the last couple months skilling and counting fish says that canceled fish do not count against the 200. I cancel anything that isn't my target, including other fish, and hit 200 even without issue (until I got Ebisu, anyway) any time I could be bothered to actually do all 200.
Didn't know you posted here, Cork.
To reiterate, 200 is the cap pre-Ebisu, 210 is the cap with Ebisu. That's all there is to it. There's no hidden cap or soft cap or anything else. I know someone here said they had data on fishing fatigue that causes longer times between casts, and that zoning can erase that fatigue, but I haven't seen the data posted and I haven't seen anyone duplicate it. It could be true - most fishing spots are a far enough walk that I haven't bothered to test it personally.
Noob question, do items and monsters count in the 210 fatigue cap?
