going to be a week before I hit that. However of C-Fish I have got around 12 skill ups in a little under 2 days. It works very well lol.
Ok, serious question about this current Fish ranking contest, assuming all servers have the same contest... if not, probably be able to answer anyway
Wiki has the marlin listed as Fish Size : 275 - 716 Pz 59 - 140 Im
I bullshit you not, 1117 marlins later, Ive yet to see anything even REMOTELY close to this size smallest one ive seen is 86/406...
Is this just extreme bad luck??? I doubt that there could be that big of a gap between my best and actual best.
On Phoenix we have takitaro as our fish, so it's definitely different.
Regarding the question, perhaps it's just bad luck. I've caught over 600 takitaro and none have been under 80 in size, and wiki lists their smallest as around 59. No way that gets me in the top 20 with the amount of fishers these days. I've caught really heavy ones, and even one heavier than the heaviest listed on wiki.
I do, however, know someone who pulls in takitaro under 70 like it's no problem at all. We are the same level, fish at the same time, both use lu shangs, but I always catch the heavy ones and he the small ones.
I like to think that I'm just having bad luck, but if that's not the cause I'd like to know about this, too.
The Fish Rank is for skill up items right? I should do this for my mule account who skill 22. how long is left to turn in fish?
I've also caught over 800 Takitaro, nothing smaller than 80. I think I might have had Puffin ring on, but not 100% sure. I'll try again without and see if that helps.
Plural of anecdote isn't proof, but the first takitaro I caught when I got home and fished them without puffin ring was a 76. Smallest in the tons I caught before (when I'm almost positive I had the ring on) was 80.
Guess my 200 fish today are gonna be taki's. -_-
Edit: 76, 75, 76, 78 (in 15 fish pulled in) Again, not proof, but yea...
edit2: 66....
One thing ive noticed (and i think i told this to nibu a long while ago) i noticed that with the ring on i caught barely any giant donko... took the ring off and started catching them like normal.
well yeah sorry to break your hearts :/
The ring however seems to help the catch rate on !!! AND makes them larger in size. At least thats what I noticed. However cant prove the improved !!! catch rate, its just from eyeballing.
Very sorry to break yoru hearts :/
I'd really like to see at least one more testimonial with someone catching 3/4 digit amount of fish, like me, being almost locked out of lowest size. It literally doesn't make sense that the Puffin ring prevents catching of smallest sized large prey.
Lowers the chance?? I could believe that, but it appears to prevent it all together.
Anyone know of a better bait to use to catch Abaia with? I tried Sliced Carp and catch Dark Bass, Crayfish as well, and even with Puffin Ring mostly get small fish. I also tried Trout Balls and catch Dark Bass and Emperor Fish, and like 8/10 of all large prey seem to end up as Emperor Fish. Just wondering if any of the other baits have a better catch rate.
Well i took the ring off as well, fishing right now, by the end of the day I'll post some results. It would seem to be true that the ring actually affects literal fish size and not just the difference between (small as in stack-able) and (large as in non-stack-able). Really appreciate inputs though, wish I had manned up and thought to post BEFORE wasting hundreds of bluetails.
Small edit, first damned catch I got was under the 86 I had previously...
Found that out while fishing Cave Cherax a few months back for smallest weight/size. I forget which. Too bad it was after the contest was over and I didn't make top 20. Something made me think about that ring and sure enough I caught one smaller than I had turned in right after I took it off.
I was so pissed. I was fishing Cherax daily for skill/Matsya bait.
Not conclusive or anything, but skilling in Nash on Mercanbaligi & Ahtapot/Pterygotus before I got a ring I was noticing a roughly 50/50 rate on Mercs and the other fish consistently. One of the reasons I got the ring was to bump my Ptery rate up for more skillups (I'd just catch Mercs because it took too long to 200 on just Pterys and I was doing it half for profit anyway). Eyeball after getting the ring? 50/50 rate. Just two cents.
