My mule is doing that run in alzhabi atm. minnows only target kalkadsfkljah;sdkljbalagi and they cap at 75. Yet to have a single line snap and have gone 55-72 so far. From 75-78 I guess Ill just suck it up and lose 99 shrimp lures in nash.

Gobys have been working so far, and npc for (about?) the same as those.

Is there anything that won't line break 75-78 without lu's?

EDIT: I guess if you're using a 99 bait like crayfish balls in cove it doesn't really matter anyway.

Am I doing something wrong here? First time I went fishing for Matsya, I got 14 in ~250 bait, which was disheartening. This time around I tracked it all, 822 bait and I got all of 52. Looking at other people's rates this seems not just low, but absurdly low. I didn't have anyone to hold monsters, so I know I'm losing some there, but this still seems extreme.

Yah, that seems low. Should be like 1/10 ratio.

Even if you can't hold them you can at least fish them up with composure sneak and help a tiny bit since they do stay up a bit. Did you at least pull up the items?

I don't think I've ever heard of pulling up the items actually helping, I guess I can give that a try next time.

Yah, this would be the reason for the discrepancy. Items are very common for that rod/lure combo, I could easily see you loosing the difference due to items.

Can I fish Matsya with just an Albatross Ring?

It's possible to fish with no rings. Just kinda depends on the person really

I would think it'd be rather easy with an Albatross Ring, I could get them down to like ~10% before I lost them on the unlucky reels without Mooching.

Did some random Matsya fishing with friends a month or so ago. Caught 7 Matsya, and sent them to my brother so he could turn them in. He finally got around to turning them in today and went 1/3. And the worst part is, the cape is a trophy item for him. He doesn't really care to skill up any crafts at the moment. Not that I really care either, since it would be the same for me if I had found a cape; I'd wear it as a fishing status symbol.

How can I lose a fish due to lack of skill that caps at 75, when I'm at 74+5 fishing?

Also, is it worth it to do haks right at 78 with ebisu, or would it be better in the long run to skill up on something else first? I'm assuming you aren't going to be hitting anywhere near the daily cap on haks.

Yes it is worth it. You may skill up faster on other stuff but that wont make up for the days of not fishing hak's

You could skill up on cave cherax and stock up on baits to fish matsya later hehe.

Do cave cherax have a much higher bite rate than haks? What level would it be worth it to do matsya at?

How much of a difference is there between say 78+4/5 skill and 110+12 when it comes to line breaks on any of these fish?

Not sure how much higher biterate but at 100+ I'd catch about 20 CCs an hour vs around 11 or so haks. I wouldn't try matsya till I was higher though. Given the time you put into getting bait you want less breaks as is. I haven't parsed breakrates for matsya let alone at really low skill or even how much crappier their bite rate might be at lower lvl but I did do Gugrusaurus back in the day for comparision of high break rate changes.

Right now at 100+ gugru break rate was around 20-25% at 78+ gear and support was more like 66%... now you gotta figure fully geared, skilled, and furnitured Matsya are doing a good 66-75% break rate as is... I'd hate to think what it would be at 78 fishing
