I started fishing pterygotus in nashmau today at 75 (99 cap) with composite rod, and it seems you can't lose these due to lack of skill, same thing when I did istridye 27-53 or whatever it was. Tavnazian goby's (75 cap) on the other hand I lost catches around 15% of the time at 74+5, and the lose rate was higher at lower levels.

Amazing, matsyas are down to 270k, and dropping even more as people overcut eachother in the AH to no end.

I personally thought that Matsya would level out in the 250k range, since you can average 1 matsya in roughly 2-3 hours of fishing (including cave cherax). Price drops below that, people will just go back to Haks. The price on Matsya will drop more when they nerf Hak price.

Even at 300k it doesn't seem worth the trouble. Too much involved in getting one matsya when you can just stay still all day and do hakuryu instead. Not to mention matysa sells are starting to slow down quite a bit.

Yeah but you cap out on CC and even matsya thanks to items way faster than hak's so the matsya per day average is much lower

most fishers found the break even point to be 1mil per fish. the time/energy vs hacks is around 1mil per fish.

My average rate was 3 fish a day. This was when it first came out but still anything less then 750k meant you where better off fishing hacks all day and not dealing with having to deal with it selling to someone.

The problem with most people's estimation on what price is worth it to fish matsyas is that it goes by the assumption that you have to pick only one or the other, matsya or hakuryu. Personally, I fish up mostly hakuryus but usually don't get 210 of them, more like 150-170 or even less, because I spend time doing other things. If I do 120-130 haks and use the rest of my daily cap on cave cherax, I'm doing pretty well.

Short version: you can cap out much faster on cave cherax than on hakuryu so it will always be more profitable to cap out on hakuryu now that the initial hype has died out.

Can you catch frogs (like newts and stuff) w/o Frog Fishing KI? anyone has any info on it? mostly curiosity (already have all the gear/useful KIs) thanks in advance!

Jesus I'm glad that isn't my server.

I've been fishing mostly Liks since I got my ebisu, and am making good cash. I can't get anywhere near the daily cap with the minnows/time I have however. Would it be more beneficial to try Haks? Will I get more per minnow to offset getting half the price per fish?

Odin is horrible. Got people undercutting each other for Liks/Matsya/Gugru's. Minnows are nearly impossible to get.

Rate on hacks is lower if price is right and you can sell keep up liks

I use to sell gugs at 30k and about 60 around 3-4 hours.
