Thanks for the advice, my alchemy is 110 so I am curious to give this a try. So, what is the easiest way to get to Oldton Movalpolos? It's been quite awhile since I've been in that zone.

In theory, as long as you have mega moglification: fishing you will have max skill bonus. You may need additional items such as the big one to help stall be the top power in your MH though.

Just wondering, has there been any good testing for this?
My friend reliably catches way more Hakuryu than me with less minnows.
I'll use 50+ minnows to catch 80-100 fish, and he'll use 30 to catch about the same amount.
We both have Mega Moglification, but he also has The Big One and I don't.
I might just be unlucky, but it's weird that he's getting better results than me every night for the past 2 weeks. :<

You're unlucky if you are catching 80-100 haks with 50+ minnows. I haven't had the big one in my MH for atleast a year and the estimated numbers you are referencing are low.

Think I averge around 100 haks with abou 40-50 minnows, I don't have the big one.

On average I double my minnow count into Hakuryu. So 100 Hakuryu with 50 minnows, a bit more/less with luck difference.

It's not a huge deal, but he spends less time finding/buying minnows than me because he knows he'll still have a few left when he wakes up, and I have to wonder if I'm just unlucky or if he has something different.

I sorta did. I have 2 characters where the only difference between them is one has another +1 skill with waders and extra fishing furniture and it makes a slight slight difference. Weather it's the waders or furniture or both idk though

We both have the Smock + Rings, only difference in gear is he has Waders which I doubt matters?

iirc some of the programs that use the fface.dll mess with it. Like I now even fishing mine it can stay at 29+. So it could freeze it at 15 I suppose

If you're getting more than 15 FPS while fishing you use 3rd party tools such as clipper/cupper.

I noticed mine would go beyond 15 fps after opening Cupper. I'm sure there are other things that do this but clipper/cupper are two that I've noticed.

It might. Though the amount of testing for that would be staggering lol. Also that was mostly for sinkers. For regulars the difference seems smaller though admittidly my sample size is poor and due to having to craft my own bait and the invent and time issues associated with that I may never get a big sample size on my main

Anyone have any idea how many stacks of sardine balls you'd need to take with you to get a similar 100~ hak haul? Figured I'd try this method out because fuck minnows.

12-15. Usually closer to 12, but I have days where my rate's a lot worse for whatever reason.

I bought 5 stacks of ingots and 5 stacks of glass fiber on slyph at 30k a piece so 300k total.

crafted 58 lures, lost 2, HQ'd 3 (60alch)
So far i've got 76 haks and i have 28 minnows left. so i've covered my losses and i'm 400k in the positive. wasn't keeping track but this roughly started from 7pm EST (give or take an hour) till about 730am EST
note: i have waders, P & N rings, level 106 fishing, no house items.

So not sure what your paying for sardine balls, (10-12 stacks of 99 you say?) but if it's the same time/money/attention investment, (or even slightly less) i'm all abouts it.
