Is it practical/possible to catch Liks/Gung/Matsya without the Mooching KI?

Didn't think killfish was usable (was told it was a quick way to get banned). I also didn't realize people still fished without a bot.. so my question was directed to "can you catch Gugs/Liks/Matsya without the KI, but with bot/Ebisu". I suppose I can pick up some rings.

Assuming you don't have an extra character to hold mobs iirc on average if you fish bait up for 4 days then use it all one day you should pull in about 16-20 matysa. So you have to ask yourself could you have made more money in 5 days? And yeah it's a bit of work though getting minnows is too these days

Why is nobody just finding a friendly alchemist and cutting deals for minnows? Fuck, I'd make them all day for someone if I had a fair profit after material costs.

Killfish will cap your fatigue really fast.

Hey you said fish them up I just said what it would take to be worth my time. If you do or don't is up to you. If you don't I'm still making decent money. If you do I make a little extra gil for a little extra effort. But I'm not going to go thru greater effort for sameish money lol. Especially since another ebisu on server hurts me.

That said one could argue that making an ebisu with the way things are right now is shooting yourself in the foot lol

At the end of the day hakryu's the easiest way to make Gil. No matter what bait you use because you can quickly npc them. Matsya and ebisu fish you 'could' make more Gil but you have to take into account time to sell fish.

I only fish ebisu fish for friends and sell at a discount. Matsya the same. At the end it's all free Gil. Lol.

Anyone know if skill gap plays a role in determining line snaps? I'm losing a lot of lures on my mule trying to level its fishing, and thinking that maybe I'm targeting to high a level of fish. Targeting mercs with Halycon. Skill Level is pretty low (around 20).

I am fairly sure that higher skill results in fewer line snaps, yes.

I would suggest either getting a Lu Shangs if you want to go after Mercs or going after a fish that doesn't break the line on a Halcyon. I think there were some non-Lu skilling suggestions in the last few pages.

well if the bait is a problem.. not to mention it would take a LOT of fishing to get 200 haks in 1 day.. ive done plenty of all day sessions and ive never hit cap

its not that hard to fish synth mats up for minnows. i craft my own minnows for me and my mule. invest 3 hours of fishing up mats and synthing them into minnows and you are good for the next 4 -5 days. rinse repeat

and fishin for gugs or liks isnt good. Not only do you create youe own competition but they sell fucking slow and thats when you set them up for 10- 20k in bazaar.

Stats show that there is some improvement. Its very small... but its there. It was something like 2%
