Yeah, just plant yourself around that little pond and fish until your heart's content. Don't rest (I think they aggro resting, right?) and don't attack anything (pretty sure they link as well?)

But if you're 75 and just fishing, you should have no trouble fishing up a ton of nebs.

So has it ever been proven that obtaining the Lu Shang's Rod by quest makes any difference vs. those who buy them?

I had been reading over many forums about that "rumor" on the Titanticus forums. Some had been saying that by doing the quest the key item may help and blah blah blah....I personally don't believe in it. Was just curious on other peoples perspectives.

Some people think that the testimonial increases bite rates but I dont think so. When my main hits fatigue for the day and I want to fish some more, I often send my lu shangs over to my mule and I dont notice any sort of a difference.


edit: does anyone know a good profit fish to bridge the gap between nebimonites and shall shells? my mule is 31 right now and im just toughing it out with shall shells but if there is something else i could do that has cap closer to my lvl and still get decent profit i'd like to try it to speed things up

Fishing and profit is overrated i'm afraid Either it's popular and you know it or it's NPCable and you cry a lil.

I think you are misunderstanding my question. I consider nebimonites and shall shells two fish that are good profit and skillups. Is there anything I can fish up in the 30-38 range that is decently profitable? Something that sells for a couple hundred gil to npcs or for a decent amount on ah like nebs and shalls.

Just going straight to shall shells works but there definitely seems to be a noticeable difference in bite rates when you go for something that far below cap. Then again I've done the same with ahtapot and mercanbaligi so what am I saying.

Oh well, its a new moon right now and I have a pelican ring so I should be able to get 5 or so levels today and things will be better.

Didn't misunderstand Just meant that odds are, if you haven't heard of it, it's probably not there. I fished off of Trout and Gold Carp, neither of which are truly that profitable compared to Shall Shells/Nebs.

i did shining trout/dark bass till 33, then just shining trout till 36 or 37 forget the cap lolz no profit but i like to skill up with crap thats within my range of 10 lvls

Sandfish comes to mind, it's in the 50's i think in rabao (are you 30-38 or looking for fish there?). Also you can fish gold carp, they should still NPC alright, you'll get moats at the same time

This is definately a good option, especially if you plan to go after Lu Shang's quest at some point. Skillups may be slow, since Gold Carps don't bite very often compared to Moat Carps, but it's still a viable option, may it be for Lu Shang or for money.

I already have lu shangs, i'm just lvling my mule when I fatigue my main for the day and still have some spare time. Was just looking for a quick way to get through the 30s but still make a little cash. But oh well, Shall Shells have been okay so I'll just tough it out.

Yeah i think shalls are still your best option juiby. when i was levelling i did herrings through the 30s but i was using them to skill my cooking so it was different.

Fishing is being crappy to me only got 0.1 yesterday from several hours, fished for almost the entire duration of new moon and only got 0.2 from that too lol

Anyway, dinged 98 yesterday, 98.5 when I stopped...Hopefully I'll be done with Nashmau and Pterygotus this evening
