I've only seen/heard of it with using killfish on harder stuff like hak's/gugs. And it's crazy like you start getting 10 sec recast after only pulling up a couple and can't catch anything after only an hour or so. Alot of bots have kill options though they hide it because well shit is obvious as heck lol. Seems like the fatigue is some auto tool to see if you catching stuff way too fast. Like maybe a so many fish so fast or something. Kinda like when you run thru a zone at 800% and it doesn't let you zone for awhile. Never heard of anyone getting in trouble about it but the game clearly pays attention

Shrimp Lure netted nothing at all, only bait I had with me as I was just there for the mission. It's not a long jaunt from Bivouac 1 either, if anything useful does get found there.

Killing a fish while botting seems dumb. You're just asking for trouble. Do people still fish? Haven't played in 3 months.

I think the answer to this is that the game does not keep up with your x/y/z. this is why you can not zone. the server still sees you somewhere else. if you do it and run to a zone really really close by this does not effect you. reason being it could keep up with you for a short distance(my theory anyways)

what happens with fish, I want to say that total fish for a day is effected by the HP , never did get around to testing it but there are many fish you can just hit enter at 110+ and not always have break your line(moat carp for example) My guess is that its harder to land the fish at max HP(or higher HP) and it affects your count. could test this simply by spamming enter on moat carp and seeing if you can real in 200 fish, or if its a way SE can truly see you cheating or not.

dejet your theory is wrong, the server knows where you are fraction of a second after you passed over a certain spot. The exception to this, if you are on Maintenance mode where you are not updating your position to the server at all.

There is a timer based on where you started in a map, and the part of the map you are trying to zone out of.

If you reached the zone out spot unreasonbly quick (i mean very unreasonably because you can still run at 400% and not get that zone error in most zones)

Yeah if you 800% it you can even turn it off and still have to wait and try a bunch of times....

Ae far as fishing goes I can get to 200 just fine on most stuff it's just the fish that take a decent amount of time to real in that gives that extra fatigue. Also when doing it it varied a lot. Like max at 7 fish or 45. It seemed largely dependent on how fast you were catching. Like if I caught a bunch in 1 hour I'd cap really low that day

I've been able to reproduce the fake cap many times, I've even started calling it the Phantom Cap. It occurs when your kill/reel is ridiculously low, somewhere around 10s~. The catches and hooks become stagnant and there will be a period of no hooks, if you don't zone for around 30 minutes of it, it will mark you as capped and you're done for the day. However, if you do zone, you'll reset whatever is happening there.

Also, run at 800% as soon as you zone to the other end. Now force D/C and log back in.

I'm catching Gavail Fish for the fish ranking and I was looking on ffxiclopedia and it mentions that the largest weight caps around 668 pz. How accurate is this? I have been fishing these only have been only able to come up with 570ish pz. I have been fishing these at the Drakenfalls location , but noticed there is other spot. Do those give a better chance at larger weights?

Wiki ranges are normally pretty damn close. My old rule of thumb was to catch somewhere between 200-400 of the fish for a guaranteed winner. The range depended on how easily accessible the fish was to others.

I'll add that I don't think I've seen one on wiki that I was sure was out of the actual range of the fish though I have found some with larger actual ranges. But accessibility to the fish is a huge factor. If it's some place you can get to and fish up with cheap ah rod easy like say jungle catfish good luck on alot of servers. If it's say sea zombie there is a decent chance that not even 20 people will enter the contest lol

I think the most lol'able contest was the fish from the once a game-day where you need Frog fishing and it is on the weird ass ferry thing from/near carpenter's landing. The name escapes me right now, but I think the only 4 entries were the ones I caught and sold lol.

Why would you ever kill fish with a bot anyway? Does killing them mean no line breaks? Otherwise I don't see the point.

So the only pro is that it catches it faster? Because not that I've ever used a bot but I'm sure the bot I don't use never failed to completely deplete a fish's stamina.

Some people are that impatient. Also I've seen bots with reaction times worse then humans so they couldn't normally catch fairly easy to catch fish. That said the only fish I can't manually catch with an ebisus is gugrusauras on the selb-aht urghan boat without live bait or any of the enchant rings. Iirc about 50% reel in rate manually about 66% with bot reeling them in. So I could kinda see people wanting help reeling those in. But there are ways of extending line time which is less obvious or just killing it at low hp which also wont activate the auto fatigue and look rediculously obvious to anyone watching. Even Matsya can be done most the time if you pay attention manually though you will always be close

Is there a large difference in catch rate for Matsya at 99 as opposed to 110? I just finished up the mooching KI and was wondering if I should hold off on using all of my dwarf pugils until I skill up a bit more

Also, is a gimp naked 75WHM enough to hold the mobs?

Somewhat small sample size that I don't currently have on me but it's not gianormous by somewhat noticeable. Given the time investment (time to catch CC then trade them forever to get 1/4 that in bait then fish up mobs and hold them) I'd just wait. Maybe build up gp in the mean time and get any +skill stuff you don't have.

And no probably not. They get stronger after awhile. Don't have exact numbers for this either but I used a 99 rdm. With capped pdt and about 700 def and 500 skill phalanx they still did dmg on normal hits and sometimes hit triple digit dmg with crits and tp moves. Especially that damn leech since I didn't bother to get mdt other than dark rings and twilight neck and just used shell v. Anyways with that setup I was fine with just casting stoneskin regen refresh and phalanx every 6 min or so. Usually.

Large difference? Nope, enough to want to wait until you cap fishing shit? Yesssss!

There seems to be a misconception on what actually goes on when you're fishing. The entire mini-game occurs client-side. Killing off a fish as soon as you hook and waiting for it to deplete makes no difference to the Y/N flags they get, and of course knowing how long it took is inevitable.
