it's been an issue since launch, but need to contact through POL violation option. if you've restored an item on your account before they won't be able to do anything because stupid policies, but if you've never used your item restore you'll be fine as long as it happened within the last 7 days

An update and a few new observations because... you know ... you care

1) I synergized my fisherman's stall finally and one noticeable difference is in the regen rate of shen. I can pretty much reel in 100% of the bites now whereas before the regen rate was too high w/o use of a duck ring.

2) I've been trying to catch the ryu fish and they're STILL too hard after the installation of the stall and lvl 99. I sincerely hope the last 11 lvls plus the other +skill equipment will make a difference. The issue is that in a war of attrition, the fish wins. Ie both its regen and the pitiful depletion of the bar with a correct arrow press(and just forget it if i make a mistake) doesn't completely deplete the bar in time.

I'm curious as to why the music cycles through twice with Shen but not the ryu fish. I've assume the music cycling twice is the result of my purchase of the mooching KI but perhaps it isn't. If it IS because of mooching I'm not sure why the ryu fish WOULDN'T be affected OR if this has only to do with gugs and liks why Shen is lumped with those and matsya?

3) I've tried Sekiryu in abyssea-altep based on an earlier post in this thread about a better bite rate. However it seems dangerous to me as the nm cactuar patrolling the oasis already killed me.

4)I've tried troutballs at abyssea-mis per gaira's post but I didn't get any bites. I was getting nothing but Greedies with minnow and sinking minnow. HOWEVER, peeled lobster seemed to only attract Soryu. I was finally able to reel one in using both a duck and albatross ring to confirm the bites were Soryu. The bite rate was soso but nothing else seemed to hook except them, items and monsters. This seems to be a promising area to me. The orapodiums around there don't aggro 99s and check as very easy AND don't link should you want to fight them for time extensions or whatnot. I haven't investigated any nms though.

Is there a way(after confirmation by other people of course) we could add that Soryu fish bite on peeled lobster in abyss-mis to bgwiki? I think this would be beneficial for other bg users and for future reference.

Well looks like the June update is going to nerf the NPC price of Haks. I'm actually surprised it's taken SE this long to lower it, figured it would have happened two years ago.

Honestly I'm kinda wondering why they bother. There are ways you can make gil solo in 20-30 minutes that get you more than you can in 12 hours of fishing haks. Even spark botting is better right now... in fact from what people have told me there were bots that farmed cruor fast enough that even with the nerf still made gil faster than fishing and that was pre soa... wonder if we will see the return of cruor botting especially since you can get sparks at the same time

Doubtful, with sparks there is a cap and you're forced to leave and spend whatever you get, and that means your silver/ebon lights get reset and are forced to build it back up again which is a pain in the ass. With cruor there is no cap that we are aware of so you could bot for a week, a month at a time and then go and turn it all in and then start over again.

Well, not worried here. I got my lu a while ago and have been trying to figure out the best path to skill up after the UI changes; I'm trying to skill up so I can catch fish to cook not haks. I seriously lose more fishermen who are willing to help me get fish for that to quitting the game than I'd like .

Would anyone here have any suggestions? I'm currently 40 fishing.

Nashmau/Talacca Cove have easy to catch fish and will bring you all the way to Ebisu level. they NPC for decent amounts too so you get a little gil for your skillups. just bring a shrimp lure

Personally I've always had much better skillup/bite rate everytime I've leveled up with waiting till 50+ for nashmau. Plus shall shells have a great bite rate and the update will make there pseudo desynth always make pearls which if nothing else npc for 1k.

Coming back from a long break to see what was worth fishing these days, but it seems that SE is nixing that. Out of curiosity, what are people doing with sparks that makes them worth farming?

I think most people are still converting them to papers for reforging... but if you tried for cash skillup items if you can find a buyer generally seem to go for ~20gil/spark. And npcing various weapons as long as you don't pick sucky ones is about 10.2gil/spark

so the dragon fish npcs for less than crocs now(if they didn't change other fish npc prices)? That's messed up. I wonder how long before we see Shen and croc-bots.

How is the biterate on shen compared to Haks? I never remember crocs being that good... maybe do remora?

Well as a less than 110 fisherman it seemed better for both. I personally preferred both to haks. They have several advantages in my opinion

1) Ease of obtaining bait. Meatball is used for both and NO other fish seemed to bite on the bait at the respective locations. I couldn't really isolate haks no matter what bait I'd use. Other fish like bluetail, cone calamary, gigant squids would bite as well. Sure some of those are single "!' and you can easily tell gigant squids from haks by ease but the fact other fish bit still seemed like it was wasting time.

2) Ease of getting to. For Shen it's just a matter of zoning out to Yahse hunting grounds near the homepoint from east adoulin. Can't get much easier than that. For crocs it's at the lake by flux 4.

3) I think I've had ONE line snap on Shen in dozens of attempts even below the level cap. I have lost a decent amt of crocs to lack of skill msg though.

As a semi-aside. I just noticed on the official forums that they also adjusted the npc price of several items. None of them were ones I used and some of them don't particularly have a high npc price(leather vest??) so i'm not sure what that's all about. Maybe SE wanted to see these put on the AH versus people npcing them. If that were the case gl with that, SE. No one's going to bother with lower lvl gear.

edit: oh doi! there's probably a synthesis kit for these that probably costs less than the npc'ed product.
