wow 94-96 in one day I been stuck at 93 (took me a while to get from 92) for ages switching between trying dil and pterygotus. Is it just bad luck to get such slow skill up or should I be trying another fish?

I was at 20 fishing a few days ago....hadn't had time to fish due to events...When I had time I went from 20 to 20.8 on 21 Fish caught (had no other time to fish due to other events starting up). I was glad to get some skillups rather than nothing. The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah is still great fishing at the moment. I'm ready on lakshmi to hopefully obtain my pelican ring now. Contests starts back up today if I am not mistaken.... Vegetaa I'm gonna need your help!

I'm at 99.1 now, got back to the Selbina <=> Mhaura ship, and I don't like it much anymore...way too much time watsed zoning to the ports...so I think I'm gonna stay a few days in Kuftal, hoping I can get the last .9 I need soon enough.

at 35.6ish skill now, and Sanctuary of Zitah was legit! I went from 31-34 in about 2.5 hours there, I had .6 worth of skillup on the same screen capture as well, which NEVER happens for me.

Since then, i've been hopping around a bit, since now I can't get skillup except on Red Terrapin there. I've gone to the Selb-M Ship and done Cone Calamary, Noble Ladies, Tuna and Bluetail - as well as the same catches (sans noble ladies and tuna, but add gigant squid) off the cliffs on Qufim. i'm still landing pretty much everything now, kinda funny seeing someone land Gigant Squid at lvl 35 though, gotta be honest. I save the bluetail to make into bait for marlin (caught a few of those too for fun) and sell off the calamary and noble ladies, squid and tuna.

i've started to notice though that, the closer to level I am to the fish i'm catching, the quicker the skillup seemed to be. When I was lvl 32 fishing, catching lvl 33 and 36ish fish, the skillup came super fast, but now that the lowest level fish i'm catching is 13 levels above me, its slowed down quite a bit again.

Tried Sandfish in Rabao for about 2 hours, no skillup there, but a good catch rate tbh.

Tried Shining Trout again in Carpenters landing, but again, bad bite rate, only 1/10 bites was trout.

Yeah friend of mine told me the skillup rate in Zi'Tah was really good. So far this has been one of the better places for skillups he has had. He is lvl 100 Fishing....About the few level's thing, I'm gonna try and go find a place where fish are about 25-27 lvl. Maybe I will skillup even quicker. Going to try this tonight before or after Dyna-Xarc..

I just found another place i'm going to try maybe tonight: South Gustaberg cliffs, just outside Bastok.

Ogre Eel (35)
Zaflmung Bass (43)
Gold Lobster (46)
Bastore Bream (86)
cobalt Jellyfish (just give up on those, don't bring them in)

So, there are 3/4 of the fish that I can skillup on, with all the fish being stackable (so nice on the inventory) and Ogre eels probably will sell decently since they can be used for venom powder synth.

I'll let you know how my fishing goes there.

I've been doing North Qufim for Squid to make sushi with, but they're the only thing there I'm getting actual skill from. I'd kind of like to get up into the 70s. :/

Nasmau as mentioned above is really nice, all you get are bream and grim's. I still like SSG just fine too. Got 1.2 the other night in Nasmau without even capping.

i don't like tal cove......... no one to sell your non stackable shit too. just got .7 in 60ish catches, lvl 97 fishing! woooo!

edit: i can totally feel this luck coming around and biting me in the ass when i go after ebisu

You can still make good money NPC'ing the non-stackable stuff you get in Talacca Cove.

About skilling in the 60s, I have really good luck in Qufim on Black Soles back then...So I'd say Qufim + Talacca + SSG + of course Nashmau.
