Ok, after hooking a few Tabernacles in Cape Terrigan, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU LAND THESE THINGS????

I got my ass kicked by 3 of them, and I logged off in disgust.

I used both Albatross Ring + Pengin Ring charges, and still couldn't land them.

I hate to be "that guy" but, this shit just screams "insta-kill fish bot" almost seems that's the only way to get these sons of bitches in. I was nowhere close to getting this fucker in doing it legit even with NOAA.gov Doppler radar + YouTube running in another window.

I went 1/1 and warped out. I don't think I had a problem at 110 w/o albatross/penguin and I've always fished vanilla. Unless there is a requirement like Lord of Ulbulka.

Got be honest with you, tabernacle was the second easiest of the fish to land

Phantom serpent is stupid easy, didnt even need rings for him.

Tabernacle caught me off gaurd first hook, but only fooled me once. Then snapped my line 2 times and I landed him.

Matsya was usual matsya self, all over the place but took 2 rings, snapped my line a fair bit.

Remora was actually the hardest. Snapped my line like 16 times!

Lord of ulbulka felt identical to matsya.

I caught quicksilver by accident while getting my 100 fish, thought it was Mola Mola.

Just finished. A few bullet point notes.

1) Im on the same server as Urat and just now finished. He is #3 I am #5, so there is not a TON of people even trying to do this as there was a good chunk of time between our completions.

2) I fished up all 5 fish before receiving the quest or completing 100 unique fishes so as stated that doesn't matter.

3) Kinda let down by the fact the whole quest took like 8 hours (I guess like 16ish hours if you count landing the 100 unique fish) but I guess as this stage of the game it is what it is

4) The terrigan fish was probably the toughest catch for me. I used albatross and seagull ring. No idea if seagull even does anything but threw out my penguin rings years and years ago. I actually had to switch techniques and went from hitting the "4" key on the number pad with my index finger and the "6" with my ring finger to using the index finger from each hand. That seemed to help some. Used shrimp lure. lost the first one due to time out and caught the second

5) second toughest was lord of U. He wasn't really too terribly tough but I was still glad I used albatross ring. Probably would have been close without it. One line break. One catch. About 14 dwarf pugil used due to monsters and bone chips.

6) phantom serpent was piss easy once you get through the ordeal of gathering the bait. One line snap. One catch. In total I turned in 18 -ryu's to receive 6 pieces of liver. Small sample but can add it to the others. The fastest ryu to catch by far was the altep and the one that sucked the most was vunk which I had about a 10% bite rate.

7) quicksilver blade was an easy catch. 1/1 about 2 minutes into the ride

8- Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but it feels like cave cherax bite rate has been raised substantially from a few years ago. I bet its 60%ish now. Likewise, I got 31 pugils from 58 cherax from zaldon. Its been years since I fished but that felt very high.

9) If the pyramid scheme of original ebisu (get ebisu then fish ebisu fish and sell to others) doesn't work here it looks like there really isn't anything this rod will help you do that you couldn't. I guess there is a temporary market for ryu's but I'm not sure the +1 is needed for that and it sure won't be as good of gil as just doing salvage or something. It's pretty much just for the glow.

For reference I'm 110 with all the items and KI other than the torque. When I used albatross I used it with seagull. When I didn't I paired seagull with puffin to try and up bite rate a bit.

So anyone else having a hard time getting tabernacles to bite? Been trying bluetail and shrimp lure for the last hour or so and 90% of the time I'm getting no bites and all the others are monsters

Edit: so moved down the beach some and that seemed to work oddly enough. Also yay my first line break since doing all this. Was starting to think something was wrong with my character

Not using anything, not even slowing my PC down. I think you just need to keep trying, even two consecutive bites can have different behavior.

Took me awhile to figure out since bite rate sucks but ends up being the coast down by 8. iirc you also get the legend you are fishing those ryus up for their too

I assume you are making a comment on how much you sold it for but the price history is by server and item links will just go to the server that comp had set last. And since you don't have server listed under your character it's a little harder to guess

I happened to be using duck ring and penguin lols. welp after bout 7 tries i got one. I hate when the arrows pop up for less than half a second you cant hit them or you clearly hit them but it doesnt count it for somereason sometimes.

I have never fished for them yet but Id assume youd get them off a cliff, is there a cliff you can get soryus in abby Mis (like haks are on the glacier cliffs)?
