Dasva are you on Bahamut still?
Dasva are you on Bahamut still?
Nah on shiva now
aww dasva, you should update your profile
I keep getting line breaks on Lord of O.Im short on bait but can't seem to reel him in, tough bastard
edit: even after the pre-req 4 fishes
edit2: the cave -> dwarf % has definitely been increased. never seen these results before
edit3: finally caught his ass, #14
Got Lu Shang's +1 finally. Bismarck 00004. Reel Endurance 8 is 7200 seconds and reward is 20 fisherman's feast. I recommend Albatross Rings to make Reel Endurance go faster. NPC says you can repair the +1 with just an ancient lumber if broken. You DO NOT get your original Lu Shang's back from NPC.
Ah I had seen a Dasva running around now and then always wondered if it was you but saw Bahamut on your server name here. That means you were the next guy after me. Yea I was really disappointed i didnt get under 10. about 2 days before i finished someone said they saw #5 somewhere so I figured people must be working on this pretty fast (although i never really ran into anyone else fishing the whole time) i was like wtf, most posts i see here are like alot lower. I am told most people that finished it were JPs on our server.
So I made a post a while ago about possibly being able to determine fish levels above 110, and refuting Ebisu +skill etc. Specifically, that there is a distinct value in the fishing minigame directly related to auto-regen/depletion. I know fishing is pretty dead now, except for maybe some reinvigoration from these recent rod upgrades, so would there be any interest in more deeply investigating these (would probably need some collective data)? How much interest is there in fishing and fishing related information nowadays? I always have an interest in data related stuff, so I've been digging around lately. I think I may have found a method to determine fish's level within 0-1 levels. For example:
Ryugu Titan = 150 or 151
Hakuryu = 146 or 147
Titanictus = 100 or 101
Titanictus can be verified now purely by skilling because of 110, but I don't think other higher level fish can be otherwise determined. The info might also relate to fish auto-regen/auto-depletion, and may or may not refute some proposals such as Ebisu giving +46 skill.
Im 99% sure the JPs figured it out a long time before us.
Maybe the clue in japanese for lord of ulbuka was less ambiguous?
Cathing all 158 fish doesn't do anything :D!!
I didnt really mean JPs figured it out first. just that on my server JPs were more dedicated to finishing it. plus update was at noon for them instead of middle of the night so maybe they kinda got on it faster than us.
in case that hasn't been said, got the rod breaking gloves from the reel endurance 6... god these are boring and take forever... <.<
I predict there will be more in the next few updates to round it out
I do not doubt SE will add more fishies for us in the new escha zones.
I hope we get a reward in the end for catching every fish in the game. Fishing boots is all that remains.
Im kind of annoyed SE didnt put fish skill +1 on the gloves. Means normal fishing gloves are probably better than these fancy gloves if you have ebisu.
To future people who have gloves: mind testing its effect on line snap rates for us? Im a long ways off from getting the gloves at the moment.
We already have Waders right for fishign boots?
Well, I'm still nowhere close to catching Lord of Ulbulka. I can't even deplete it's stamina even with Albatross Ring/Duck Ring or Albatross/Penguin combo. How are some of you even getting the stamina down let alone catching this fucker?
Took me about 20ish bites to pull him in. I didnt even fully deplete his HP until the last 5 or so attempts.
went back to the goold old fountain of kings to skill up on cave cherax.
double pelican ring + fisherman's feast
20 minutes of fishing.
14 bites
2 line breaks (wasn't using the gloves, forgot them in the safe <<)
6 skill ups, 4 times 0.2 and 2 times 0.1
damn fishing has changed lol
What I get for doing Lu first and screwing it up. Anyways.... some preliminary testing on Lu/Ebisu/Lu+1/Ebisu+1:
The ONLY difference I can see so far between the NQ and +1 rods, are bonuses to the maximum amount of time you have to reel in fish. There is no change between NQ and +1 Lu Shang's and Ebisu as far as how much stamina gets depleted on correct arrow input, or how much stamina is recovered on incorrect input. There is no change in how the rods behave (how long they stay to one side/how long they linger in center, and how fast they change positions in general). Also, there is no additional bonus to the amount of stamina auto-depletion between Ebisu and Ebisu +1 (see Ebisu +1/Lu Shang +1 & General Testing).
This means:
Ebisu NQ = 30s reel time in normal cases
Ebisu +1 = 40s reel time in normal cases
Lu Shang NQ = 40s reel time in normal cases
Lu Shang +1 = 50s reel time in normal cases
I say normal cases because some fish have less than the normal 30s reel time, and Ebisu provides 10s bonus for certain legendaries (40s reel time on those).
Lu/Lu+1 depletes more stamina on correct input than Ebisu/Ebisu+1 does. Ebisu/Ebisu+1 recovers less stamina on incorrect input than Lu/Lu+1 does. Ebisu advantage is in the auto-depletion bonus.
A bit disappointing. More in-depth testing and numbers to be posted later.
Stupid question - Does the Lu Shang +1 still break like the regular one?
