Stupid question - Does the Lu Shang +1 still break like the regular one?

Yea, the NPC even mentions that it is still breakable upon receiving the +1 rod. With the new rod being ex, your only options for repair would be the NPC or have WW, unlike the normal rod which a friend could repair for you.

Someone said somewhere though for the Lushangs +1 to fix it only took 1 ancient lumber and not light crystal I guess. I think that is what it was. they said it was different in some way.

I think originally you needed ancient lumber + 2x light crystals. After I got the rod, the NPC stated it could still be broken and only required an ancient lumber to fix, so I guess the 2x light crystals are not needed for the +1. Still inconvenient vs. WW repairing.

Remember, has to be made long-term viable for the anti-social in all of us so when it's impossible to find a WW, not screwed.

Although not a Lu owner, I don't see why 70WW would have been so bad.

It is not just 100 fish, but 100 unique fish. Any fish successfully caught into inventory with any rod post update will count towards the RoEs and Katsunaga's list, and thus towards opening Ebisu +1 quest. You can also fish up the 5 required legendaries before even starting the quest and they will still count.

From what I've seen it doesn't even have to go into inventory as some of the ones I caught with full invent counted

Release due to full inventory will NOT count towards Katsunaga's list. They DO count for most of the fishing RoEs though.

Ok good. I had 61 fished up while doing Lu Shangs and ended up finally getting Ebisu items.

It could also have something to do with the signature, if you were able to craft it with WW you might lose the signature. I'm also curious that you do in fact keep your # if you manage to break it.

I'm pretty sure broken Lu +1 can still be repaired fine with WW? Also makes sense why they lowered synth level to 70. I was just saying, even if they removed the 2 light crystals required, it's still inconvenient to get lumber and go out all the way to Rabao to get it repaired vs just synth repairing yourself. Doubt # signature would be affected either.

Least you can homepoint/waypoint to Rabao now. I cant tell you how nice it was when I was actually working on my original Ebisu to use waypoint/VW warps to get back and forth to rabao/tavnazia. I dont think we had homepoitn warps then.

Started doing Lu +1 yesterday and the Reel Endurance ones are awful. Ebisu +1 wasn't that bad.

This was the sole reason I levelled woodworking as my main craft back in the day. Being able to repair my own lu shangs made ebisu significantly easier.

Finally managed to land a Lord of Ubulka.

I had ZERO chance doing it the standard way, so I resorted to button mashing 4 and 6 alternatively. It shockingly worked!
