Noob Question #3!

Been fishing in Vunkerl with Crayfish balls and a Robber Rig, but Trumpet Shells are one of the few fish that actually hook my bait. Am I doing something retarded, or are Trumpet shells just few and far between? What is the best setup for Trumpets, and am I fishing on the totally wrong Bridge (Furthest East)?

I tried trumpets for a bit as a profit fish in the 50s but didn't like the bite rate. I posted some stats maybe 10 pages back but I think it came out to a 15-20%ish bite rate for me. If u don't mind taking some time I'd say go back about 20 pages and start reading pages 35-now I think they have a lot of info that answer ur "noob q's"

I went and ran around the Bridges for a while and found that Bridges have different bite rate, best seems to be the Nroth-West one. 50% Trumpets off of that one compared to like 20% on all others; Crayfish Bait blows as bait, way too many Octopii. :<

Maybe I just got lucky, only caught 50 fish total so small sample size no doubt. TO WORK!

What can you farm in 2hrs that makes 150k?

80k an hour, but I can't do it more than a few times during a week, and I don't really care to share it for obvious reasons.

How long is it taking you higher-level fishers to cap out in a day though? At 51, I can't see myself fishing up 200 Ahtapots/Mercanbaligi in less than 6 hours. It's nice that I can do it while seeking on my PLD55 and I don't have to bother with the AH, but I can make my ~150k in a third as much time farming if I wanted.

Can you make it while seeking as PLD as you say though? Also, you're not going to be skilling up for profit which is really the beauty of fishing. If you don't like the money you're making fishing then go do something else.
I'm pretty happy with the money I'm making while skilling up to 99. But then I'm not saving for a relic. I just hit 97 today.
I don't know what the potential gil/day of Matsya is (assuming it's not rubish), but eventually one hopes to work towards that to make the best money from fishing.
Personaly I hope that fishing will help me finaly level a decent craft.

btw there is nothing in this game that you can make 80k/hr never ending.

Fishing can net you that IF and only IF you have someone who is buying lik/gugs.

on my server i sell them for 15k each. I can fish up to 10 in one hour if i get 2 boat rides in a row that are nice.

avg id say is around 3-4 per trip so 2 boat rides in one hour(maybe 1/2 a 3?)

7.5 in one hour= 115k in one hour.

however this needs a buyer lol. only get one every few weeks it seems to me. i have the rod 3 weeks have had 1 fisher a week that i sell to so far.

normal cave fishing 200x1632=326400 gil+ manta....
800x200(one day of cave fishing) =160k

with this 25% of them will be bait. thats 50 bait.

10% bite rate(lower then any fish in the game btw)
25kx5=125k

125k+160k=285,000

so lol why even try?

In other news, Talacca on Hades is much less lonely lately. Dude named Soopataru recently finished his Ebisu and now fishes here, as well as a guy with his cooking alt standing right next to him. Too bad my favorite spot got taken by a Galka, have to share it now.

As far as I know it can NEVER be ahtapots! Without a version update.. (anyone know for sure?)

I actually got good skillups on Black Sole 90ish-96. Then no skillups at all for a week or two on Pterygotus/Armored Pisces before they finally started coming in again.

I started fishing marlins around.. 31 or 32 I think, they were rough, and would time out on them every so often, but usually managed like 1-3 per ride.
