won mine first time without even trying, only did like 5 fish.

it varies from server to server and is largely dependent on what the fish for the contest is.

I did some math, if a mithra is 10 lms, wide, according to pic shes roughly 50 lms tall...

Thus, a matsya 4K lms long is roughly 90 mithra long, or a little longer than an airship.

So I'd say that giant fish in the pic is pretty clsoe to the size of a larger matsya.... o.o;

When I saw the big leviathan in FFXIV trailer I though of Lik, but I guess Liks are freshwater, not saltwater.

I know a lot of what I've learned in FFXI long-term will carry over to the new MMO.

I know I'll enjoy being one of the first rounds of people at the top, experience some endgame while it's still new (but in a more casual manner)

I know I'll start doing a craft from day one instead of saving it for last.

I know I'll be fishing with dejet as soon as I login and can figure out where we buy fishing rods

Last month was Giant Donkos, I caught at least 20 of them and wasn't even in the top 50...

Ryugu Titans.. ugh, my biggest one so far is 1646, from the AH <_< I don't think I can catch any at my level lol (42)

Is minnow or sinking minnow the best for liks?

For the Lik catching question, I personally use minnow, but the bite rate for Liks are so low, I can't even tell, plus they're cheaper than sinking minnow anyway.

i'd think that it would have to be depleted, i dont think ankle just hit enter when the fish was hooked lol, but maybe you can.

how/where can i easily fish up the 10 rusty subligar needed for the ninjutsu quest? i've tried lots of different combinations in lots of different places over the last few days at low skill (9) with moghancement: fishing with absolutely no luck. otherwiki suggests composite+sinking minnow in zehurn mines, but after over 2 hours there all i had was buckets. and subligar is the only item you can fish up on the ferry but i've been trying combinations of poles and bait that should isolate the subligar and getting nothing. i feel like there must be a simple way to fish them up consistently, based on people selling them in large quantities on the auction house?

Well, I caught my first matsya today, was nice enough to come easily, got him very first catch.

Damn he was hard though, like a gugra with a lot more hp. Using alby ring took me all the way down to the last second to get him in

so if there are any tests and whatnot you guys want me to do with it, I'm gonna attempt to synth one with each crystal first. Just post here and I'll do random stuff with it. nothing works, quick 25K cha ching
