I rather stay quiet than say good to a stupid player, lsmate or not. I reserve my right to compliment others on their skill to those that deserve it ~_~. I've learned too well, give bad players compliments and they'll continue to be bad.Originally Posted by Keston
Though with me, most people come to me rather than I come to them when they want advice on a job I've leveled. Especially if it's BRD or COR XD. And really I don't give the fuck of they call me an elitist, I just burn their ass another way.
That explains everything.Originally Posted by Septimus
I take great offence to this. I have been playing since Day 1 release EU since I am based in the UK and to say that the introduction of EU players into the game ruined it is a totally ignorant response trying to find an excuse for the players joining from ALL regions who are unwilling to put effort into it. I can 100% say that there are just as many NA players who are completely moronic as there are EU and JP. This is down to SE changing in the game in such a way that people can be lazy now not putting effort into getting 75 etc via ToAU and not the fact that EU people entered the game.Originally Posted by Wizerd
Well FFXI Fans from Euro did import the US PC Version early. Thats why the EU release might seem to have brought more idiots![]()
you could say this about the NA PC and ps2 releases too.Originally Posted by Lyramion

Trust me, there are as many, if not more, idiotic NA players than EU. Like many, been playing since Day 1 of EU release, don't blame all retardness on us.
The retardedness doesn't come from any specific country or region, it comes from the fucking gimps that don't learn how to play the game before reaching high levels. Many new players are so worried about getting 75 ASAP that they don't take the time necessary to level proper subs or to do the quests for certain necessary spells. They're content, limping their way to 75, while fucking the game up for the other people they're partied with.
A few months ago I finished leveling BLU to 75, so gimps of that job in particular get my attention .... I by no means have the best gear out there, but I have more than acceptable gear and it just pains me to see some retard that has no idea what he's doing. I've been leveling DRG recently, and it's now sitting at 72. Well, I got a party invite recently from a BLU whose name I recognized right away .. he's one of those full-AF wearing, STR-ring TP'ing, pathetic sons of bitches that bring the game down for everyone else. BUT, I'm on DRG, wanting exp and swimming in a sea of 50 other seeking DD's, so I accepted. The party ended up with two WHM's and no Refresher at all, and hence, no buffer. Next I found out that the only camp that was free was trolls, which isn't so bad if your party is full of good players, but terrible for this type of party. The BLU wanted to go to Nyzul Isle Bhaflau and camp on top of a 75 merit party ... I said "Sorry guys." and disbanded, I just don't have the patience I guess. ; ;
Back when you needed a full alliance to make it to the top of promy mea/dem/holla. And with the pre-nerfed agro range you could all be hugging those walls perfectly and still manage to agro 1-2 of the really big/nasty mobs at once and wipe horribly.
One of the reasons I like playing this game is because I come into contact with a lot of people I wouldn't normally. Admittedly it would be nice from a maintenance point of view to be based on a regional server but that's about it.I take great offence to this. I've been playing since Day 1 of EU release too and the only thing I've noticed is the marked cultural differences in teamwork, prioritisation and approach to getting things done.
The game has gotten simpler but more the body of knowledge about it has grown, the collective experience is huge and so features of the game are more accessible to a wider audience. You don't have to be as good a player as once you might have had to have been because you don't have to figure things out for yourself, merely follow a guide and in many cases not really understand why.
There are stupid and/or lazy people everywhere.
I've lost track of the number of times I've had to convince people that guides aren't the only way to do something.
ninja tanking AU44 less than 48 hours after the first notes on AU44 went up on the old wiki (specifying pldonry with no engaging) comes to mind
as does every single salvage run with a new prospect ever.
I dunno bout the whole NA vs EU thing that's kinda dumb, but the NA ps2 release did bring a whoooooooole lot more retardation into the game. I very clearly remember the constant idiotic shouting and just the entire maturity level of the whole NA community dropping dramatically when all the ps2 kids came. They weren't referred to as "ps2noobs" because of how awesome they were.
Oh, I just thought of something that drives me crazy as well. Something about the nature of sub jobs is naturally infuriating I think, but what really gets me is how people get locked on to the idea that they have to pick one sub and stick with it. Having a diverse set of sub jobs is a great asset, even subs that for odd little niches and quirks. But players that know how the job system works will still confine themselves to their one sub and stay as it even if the situation calls otherwise.
Lower level subs cause my blood pressure to raise to critical levels some times. The WAR20/NIN10 crowd that joins the party at 19WAR/NIN, just so they can ding into dual wield 1. This also applies to THFs (using two outdated daggers they saved). and BLUs... etc. (on a seperate note, why no love for THF/WAR anymore? It has its uses.). Just because something is good at 75, doesn't mean that it applies to levels 1 through 73. RDM/SMN doesn't work in the dunes kiddo. (and in my opinion, it doesn't work at all in exp.)
Oh, and it takes an unbelievable amount of restraint not to slap a 20SAM/8RNG. Or 50RNG/THF.
But what actually makes me sad is that during lowbie levels, when an unusual sub actually has it's uses, it's completely ignored. /RNG, /DRG both make nice subs before Berserk is an option. I went SAM/MNK through dunes, since I wasn't needed to back up voke. The loss of, maybe, 1-2 strength at that level was hardly devastating. Recently, I've been finishing DRG as a sub. A week or so ago, my friend PLed me for a short while in Batilla to kill time, I went DRG/MNK since it was just me clobbering T birds at 23ish. I didn't bother going /anon, and someone actually took the time to send a tell, informing me that I was a moron for not subbing WAR... while solo... with a PL.
What is it about subs that makes people belligerent and retarded?
I agree with this.Originally Posted by Alibeemac

Trying to separate stupid people by geographical location is stupid in itself.
There's stupid people everywhere, stop trying to pin it on one continent.
*facepalm*
I had someone tell me he has Nbody uncursed in his MH and doesn't use it because he doesn't like to equip swap, so the only Hecatomb pieces he wants are ones which he can cancel the slow out with haste gear.
