To me, I play this game to a large extent to have fun. If I'm not having fun in an xp party, then I get the hell out of it (unless I am really desperate to get the next level or if invites have been very sporadic depending on the level range).

Not having fun can be of being in a bad party, or xping off of mobs that I just perform poorly on (IT+ mobs after sushi while I was xping on monk. It was just depressing to have the top tier gear for the level range and be hitting for 1-18 damage.). It can also be due to partying with a terrible person.

I'm usually borderline about parties where someone has <call> in any kind of macro they use with regularity. Most of the time, asking politely will get them to remove it, but there's occasionally the one person who pretends not to hear you. Makes me wanna cry cause any time I've been in those kind of parties, I've just been desperate for invites in general (I levelled DRK back since shortly after the PS2 release. Seeking for over 10 hours at a time or having the flag up for days without a tell was just depressing to the point where I'd just accept any party that would net some xp.). One of these days I'll just learn to leave crap parties, as I know what I'm doing and I spend a lot of time and gil getting the best gear I can for the level range and I don't need crap parties bringing making me feel that all the effort is going to waste.

Just because you used to have to deal with that shit is no reason for people to deal with it now. My great-grandparents had to walk to school in the snow uphill both ways, does that mean I should never buy a car? Hell no! Are people spoiled now in comparison to pre-ToAU days? Sure. But that's just the way progress works.

I wasn't meaning to campare the xp rates as much as the playing for fun...

high xp party does mean a fun party to all.. playing with people that have swollen heads for 10k + an hour sucks in my opinion..
I would rather have a lower xp rate and party with people i can talk with and enjoy playing the game with...

It's the same with pre-ToA bst camps vs ToA camps.. yea, i took ToA routes for 5-10k an hour solo.. did it make my job any less fun? no...

Did i quit leveling or quit having fun though when i did use a Pre-ToA camp because a current one was full already? hell no.
