52 yep, but not higher. When no one's signed up, you get a mob 1-2 levels above or below you.

Re: The future of the Pit

on Kujata during NA hour you'll see around 20-30ppl in the Pit all together, most are bazaaring in Anhialation(sp) or Diablo. The wait at non tourny cages is normally 3-9minutes (min is peak NA times), Diablo normally 6-66min (66 is peak NA times). JP times the Diablo cage is normally 87 minutes all the time, no spamming to get in though, the other cages vary from 12-24minutes, Carnage is ALWAYS the shortest wait time.

My suggestion to take advantage of things is to have two pets, level one almost exclusively, when you que that pet up and get paired with an opponent not worth the time, swap pets, and get 100xp on your other pet, so the time isnt wasted. This also tends to make ppl go to a different cage, cause no one other than level 50s want to get 5XP even during low que times. I have also notice that JP will cure a mid 40 pet and change it at the last second to a lv8ish pet to if they are pairewd with a lower pet so they get better XP for something, wich is where the idea came from. You can withdrawl from a match as long as there is still a match before yours that has not paged any one to the command areas. meaning Match3 fighting Match2 jerkin = you can cancle your fight, if match 2 is paged your stuck.

Would also suggest holding on to crapp lv50pets, for when the lv cap gets raised later on, the extra FP may make that pet better.

[some of this is off topic sorry, typing as i think]

Re: The future of the Pit

I'll place money on SE making a stealth change to the 'no PC opponent' system. I've been fighting game-run mobs all day (20-30 matches) and every single one has been my exact level. I suspect they wanted to get rid of fights against level 51 and 52 mobs.

The other change is that now the game-run mobs sometimes have an ability (en-dark is the only one I see, about 1 in 4 has it).

When I was in my 10s or so, all my NPC opponents were listed as being level 20, but always gave 100 for wins and 5 for losses.

Yeah, that's a bug. If there's no opponent then after you're called to the stand it lists your opponent as level 20. Once the fight starts check it again and it'll list the real level.

The Pit on Hades is fucking boring.

Everyone is raising the same Mimic. Spikes, Endamage, Damage Reduction, Stoneskin/Phalanx/Blink. And with it's massive one TP move, there's a good chance if you're in Diabolo, you're fighting a Mimic.

Give it Arcana Killer and call it a day if that's what everyone is using.

Yeah. When the Pit first opened, everyone on Midgar used a wyvern. Seriously, nine mobs out of ten were a wyvern. I stuck dragon killer on my mob and had at them.

Raise a blm mob too. Mimics are totally ass-raped by a good blm mob, because they take at least 10% more damage from magic.

Hell, the other day our resident Mimic thats racked up over 2000 wins before, got beat by an Imp 3 levels under it. 2 Ga's and a single target nuke was all it took. And I know its possible to somehow set your mob to cast almost all -gas, because I've seen blm pets that do literally NOTHING but -gas.

Also, a chigoe with shadows and Endamage works just as well taking down a mimic.

The problem is that the mimics I see on Hades are set to stun anything they don't like (TP moves, Drain, -ga spells, you name it). So other than the opening spell that BLM mobs get off, they can't do anything after that. Have to figure out the command to make your monster spam the fuck out of magic. In fact, I've seen NPC ghosts that sleep II a mob before letting another nuke rip.

Moreover, in terms of spells, I've seen a ghost cast Freeze, and even a crab RDM cast Refresh (never seen a mob do that before).

On Midgar, chigoes are the most common champs. Insane attack speed, en-something, and some stoneskin/shadows and it's unstoppable.

And yesterday I saw a pot fight, it did nothing but spam Refresh. Very amusing! To me, at least. I'm sure the owner didn't think it was as funny.

I'm kind of pondering a BLM mob next. The whole 'sleep it then nuke the hell out of it' thing is pretty cool, it's just the side attacks triggered by casting that worries me.

Re: The future of the Pit

Chigoes can work, the problem is alot of mimics run something like ice spikes which either kills the chigoe, or severely slows it down with all the paralyze procs.

Also, the -ga happy blm I saw, would cast a ga roughly every 10-15 seconds, so with blink + stoneskin, it had nuked 3 times before the other Mimic ever broke its stoneskin, so the mimic was already almost dead before it ever got enough tp to successfully stun something. Then it stunned 1 thing, and the very next Nuke got off and killed it.

Also, my antlion laughs at chigoes happily. My pit ambush wipes blink and breaks their stoneskin. Heck, any kind of pet that relies on Blink + stoneskin for defense usually doesn't last long. What eats me up is pets with high physical resistance, or that sidestep like crazy.

Yeah, me and my wife are both working on our third pets each. She just likes leveling, but I enjoy the challenge of the D Cage.

Re: The future of the Pit

The first couple days I did a qutrub and antlion to 20ish (I've dropped those after learning about innates) did a treant who is 30 something but he sucked bad so I didn't finish him yet, crab 50 on main, kraken 48 on alt, coeurl already lined up on alt when kraken is done, holding out for a hippogryph in next patch for my main. >< I would do more if I had any inventory space, I just can't help myself.

Chigoe are worthless, sorry. They absolutely die to BLM mobs, Pit Antlions, and most mobs with Phalanx. Pit Ambush erases shadows and does a decent chunk of damage even with Stoneskin.

The thing I love most about the Pit is that there's no one "right" mob, no mob that will win 100% of the time. Chigoe are far, far from worthless (they're the Pit champ more than any other mob on Midgar), however, like everything else, and as it should be, they have weaknesses as well.

I think of the Pit as one giant Rock, Paper, Scissors game. BLM mob beats Chigoe, but a side attacking mob would beat a BLM, and a Chigoe would beat the side attacking mob...

Re: The future of the Pit

I've yet to really see most blm mobs beat a chigoe anyway. The blm goes to cast, and the chigoe gets to the side and completely rocks the blm with 3-4 massive side hits during the spell.

Saw a blm once go to cast Freeze, and it was dead before it got the spell to even finish casting.

Watching Diablo champion circles is like that exactly! Mimic dominates forever until he gets beat by an en-spell mandy, mandy gets shortly beaten by something else which gets owned by a corse which gets embarassed by a weapon which the Mimic completely destroys. Antlion2 beats Antlion1 on second or third try, gets owned by a slime which gets owned by a hecteyes which gets owned by Antlion1. I love it lol XD

Exactly! Which makes me wonder what the championships will be like. (There's furniture to be given away for first, second, third place, so there's got to be more coming to the Pit than there is now.) Which of those mobs will be able to win? Or will it be something totally new? Or will the contest be something like 'who can take the most damage' or deal the most or whatever? :D
