Vista Ultimate or XP Pro?

Guys, I just bought a 450 dollar comp off the webs. Should I get Vista Ultimate or XP Pro? It also come with a choice of either 8600GT or the X2600 card... which combo should i go for?

lol I decided I had to disable that like 45 seconds after installing windows, of course the whole point of installing vista was to figure out how to use it, so I spent the next hour just blindly looking around for it.

I'm going to be the contrarian and say Vista. Especially if you are running multiple PCs. If it is your only PC and you just want it to work, go with XP. Being able to know the nuances and quirks of a OS that people don't currently use but will eventually ALL use is pretty valuable imo.

I actually like Vista more, but if your going to play FFXI, yeah get XP. I recommend getting both, just buy Vista and, ahem, acquire XP through different means. :D

when sp1 rolls out i may try vista again... but until then its still unusable for a lot of stuff (even though im typing this on a vista box at work... (in the break room, no we aren't that stupid and use Vista for workstations... I really hope no one has done this yet...))
