I always alt strum, never saw the point of just strumming in one direction in the game.

I switch between alt-strumming and downstrumming depending on the meter....but I'm sure if I was good at purely alt-strumming I'd be better.
I alt strum for solo's and really fast passages...or when my hand gets tired from down strumming. I kind of have a hard time alt strumming for normal speed passages just because I have a better rhythm down strumming. I dunno, maybe its because I started on Easy all the way up through Hard using down strumming by itself, I finally had to learn to alt strum on Expert. Down strumming kind of stuck with me this whole time![]()
imo by alt strumming its seems easier to keep the rhythm/beat of the song. easier on the ears as well
Fuck Raining Blood and fuck its Mosh1...
EDIT: Nevermind, fuck Lou's battle even more.. >.<
gdi, it seems like it's mostly luck and depends ALL on what powerups you get and what powerups Lou gets... >.< I got close about 3 times today but still lost.
As much as it sucks losing to him, at least the song is better than Raining Blood (playing thatover and over was torture.)![]()

5*'d 2 of the 4 remaining songs on hard for me...improved a few expert scores/rankings. Definitely getting better, slowly.
I popped in GH2 out of curiosity. Never again. The game looks so bad nowand I hate the angle the fretboard is at on the screen.

The only thing I said...
"FUCK"
rofl.. yeah I was ready for that last part but I was in blinking red... thankfully I suddenly became super good and passed the part heh.
I cant beat TDWDTG download song on expert ~_~ 58% is my bane, fuck you bob, fuck you.
How fast do you have to strum that part near the beginning? I was going as fast as I could and it wasn't fast enough apparently.
I totally see where you're coming from with this, first time playing 2 after 3, I was like "holy shit these graphics are absolutely terrible." (reversion of 360 to ps2) I can't give up 2 though, because Hanger 18 and Beast and the Harlot are just too fun. Do gotta say though, after 3's Ho/Po it's a lot easier to pick out in 2 when you should use them....at least for me.Originally Posted by aurik
Am I the only one that likes GH3 better than GH2? (based on the list of songs, that is..)
Question, I just bought a 32" HDTV (god it makes a fucking WORLD of difference from the previous tv i had), but it has HORRIBLE lag with this game...Calibrating, does nothing to fix the lag...and I tried the 33ms that people have been suggesting on the forums, and its slightly better, but the sound is still off...any other way I can fix it?
calibrate it according to sound and not according to how the thing travels down your screen... matter of fact, don't even look, just strum whenever you hear the sound.
I haven't tried it myself because my tv has perfect calibration with guitar hero for some reason (42" sharp aquos if it makes a difference..), but I've been reading that this is what people are doing in order to try and reduce (if not completely fix) their game's lag.
It's that damn controller though, they should've calibrated the wireless guitars before realeasing them to the damn public.
