This game is giving my left hand a workout, I'm only playing on medium but my pinkie just sucks at pressing blue and stretching my hand out is pretty strange too. I like it though.

Try rolling your fingers on a surface whenever you can, thats how I built up finger speed lol

I haven't played gh3 in so long, I wonder if I can actually beat it now lol. I got really good on expert, playing rock band though. >.>

GH3 is awfully tough in comparison. Maybe not to just beat, but to play well. It's way more overcharted for difficulty, and gawd @ the random ass strums all throughout huge hopos. The gh controllers allowed them to put in some way crazier strumming too.


Oh and yes, the classic rock pack was released yesterday morning. I saw the first FC's of them, live on a stream heh, and then some other guys got some sightread fc's later in the day.

Playing this game makes me feel like I have to do everything really fast. I find myself trying to read posts really quickly like if I don't I'll fail or something.

Also.. do hammer on/pull offs give extra points or does it just make certain parts more helpful. There are some songs that I feel I could definitely do better using them but it feels pretty awkward.

Did you start to use them when you first played the game or after you had already gotten good? I guess when my hand gets into the beat of the strumming its awkward to stop that rhythm and just let my fingers do it.

Well they're barely used on Medium which is the difficulty I originally started on in GH2, but yeah I did play them out as a ho/po and didn't strum them. On hard and expert you'll practically have to use them or you won't pass half the songs.

I beat him eventually but I pretty much had to somehow get a powerup first and cheap him out like he did to me.

at least lou on expert has an "IWIN" button, I currently can't beat slash on expert or lou on hard.

have like 5 songs left to 5* on hard and I'm on before I forget / 3's & 7's on expert, and yeah, lou on hard = impossible for me atm ><

I had a hard time taking my fingers off the buttons fast enough so that the green would go through, so I end up just concentrating on tapping the buttons as lightly and quickly as possible to get through. It still might take me a few tries to get past the intro, depending on how tired my hand is. Just passed the song yesterday for the first time actually, after failing twice at the solos just before.

This seems to be my problem right now, I have pretty much mastered doing it on slow(1 step under full) but every 4-5 seconds I'll eat it cus I think im not taking my fingers off soon ehough, sometimes I get almost all of it, sometimes none D: lol

I used to have to play Lou 10~ times before beating him, and even then it was just barely... now I absolutely rape him, same thing with expert Slash.

I can't seem to beat One and Raining Blood on expert though, so I can't even play Lou there yet. ;;

I started a new band too, and I'm stuck on Expert Cult of Personality for some reason. >.>

Question about ho/po... do you guys actually hold the buttons down when a hammeron set comes along or do you just hit each button at a time (while lifting the other fingers up)? That's what i'm doing and it works FINE in Rock Band, but in GH3 it seems to be shit, but I also can't get used to actually hammering on with my fingers and keeping all the fingers pressed.

I can't stand leaving my lower fingers on it distracts the hell out of me.

Really with gh3 when the hopos get fast you can be like 3 notes ahead anyway lol, just start out doing them really fast and if you get off by a little bit or whatever a lot of the time you can still hit it.

Yeah when I leave them on notes i'm not currently playing it confuses the hell out of me... but it seems that doing them 1 finger at a time isn't the proper way of getting through some of these really fast note charts like Cult of Personality.. But on other charts like Cities on Flame with Rock & Roll that are very similar to CoP just not as long, I do a lot better and 5 star the song with 93-95%... I dunno. >.<

I kept trying to do the "whammy during green stream" on hard mode Lou, got tired of resetting due to not getting whammy as the first power up and decided to just play the song normally. The very next try I beat him with an amp overload at the section just after the green stream.
