I down-strum the intro of TTFAF as well, literally the only section in any GH game that I do it on.

I down strum the intro too, and almost always down strum unless I'm forced to otherwise (See: DGDTG, KoC, etc.)

And speaking of KoC, I can't fkn 5* it for some reason D;, that and RB are my last 2 I need to 5* (Scores are 298k and 215 respectively, I believe)

I down-strum the intro of TTFAF as well, literally the only section in any GH game that I do it on.

I'm assuming you mean the part after all the pulloffs? And even then I don't get why you need to downstrum it.

Nope, I mean the intro. I can play it perfectly by reversing my left hand and downstrumming with my right. I don't know why it works so well, but it does.

Ugh, I'm admittedly pretty shitty at this, but I've 5 starred all of the Medium career set with some fc's. I absolutely suck at Hard mode though, I've only attempted the first 2 songs on Hard and I can clear them okay but I do really bad. I think I got something like 65% notes hit on the second one. What finger do you guys use to hit the orange? I find myself losing my place on the first 4 notes whenever I have to hit an orange. I think it's panic mostly, but I'm not sure whether to try and using my pinkie for it or move down 2 notes and use my third finger, which one do you guys think is easier/comfier?

Practice shifting your finger placement to red instead of green. Hell, you can try it on medium by pressing red every time with your index finger / hitting blue with your third finger. Once you get that feeling of "awkwardness" out, orange will be comfortable.

I'll be passing if it's all Aerosmith, waste of my cash since I only like a select few of their tunes. I take it the game will basically be GH3 with a different coat of paint on it like Rock the 80s was to GH2?
(which in that case, paying $60 is a rip-off)

Anyways, have any of you guys attended public tourneys for GH3? About to head to my second one in a couple days, and hoping it isn't just a mindless FC-or-lose tourney since the host wanted to start it on bloody Medium for some reason.

Eventually, it gets easier to base your fingers on RYBO. It just takes a lot of practice. Going from Medium to Hard is a huge jump in difficulty in any GH game. :x If you can, get a hold of GH2 and practice on a bunch of songs - Sweet Child of Mine, Heart-Shaped Box, Strutter and Less Talk More Rokk are all really good songs for getting used to sliding your hand up and down on the frets.

I'm sure they'll put more effort into the Aerosmith version than they did into the 80's, the rock the 80's was just ridiculous and no way should have cost more than 30 bucks

I'm still really upset that they are going to make the game just Aerosmith, idc what band it is I'd rather have some variety

For the 10th time, there is variety... they will also have songs of band they're performed with and bands that inspired them... it's a game sponsored by Aerosmith, it doesn't mean it'll only have Aerosmith tracks.

From what I gathered though, they're re-recording most if not all of the songs for the game, so at least it'll sound fresh.

Okay stupid question but Ive been checking on the internet on and off for a week now but I gotta know, does the GH3 guitar on PS2 work for GH2 on PS2. No cross platform crap cuz all I can find is people QQing cuz of the PS3 compatibility issues.

buy a new one, ask for a 2nd copy of the reciept. return it for your money back next day with one of the receipts and keep the other one.

The 7th and 8th bracket of songs are so much harder than all the other songs on Hard mode. I'm not sure if its a matter of me just not being good enough, or if I need to practice mode each song to figure out the rhythm for the hard parts that mostly show up after 50% in the song. I was just trying One by Metallica and I was probably heading to a 4 star when that crazy part of 3 note hammer ons fuck fest shows up and kills my dreams at 79% through.
