Guitar Hero III setlist leaked + GH3 Discussion Thread

The 7th and 8th bracket of songs are so much harder than all the other songs on Hard mode. I'm not sure if its a matter of me just not being good enough, or if I need to practice mode each song to figure out the rhythm for the hard parts that mostly show up after 50% in the song. I was just trying One by Metallica and I was probably heading to a 4 star when that crazy part of 3 note hammer ons fuck fest shows up and kills my dreams at 79% through.

Save your star power it's like 10 seconds of wtfingfisthis then some moderate stuff then back to darkness.

Does the star power double the amount of +rock meter I get for each note that I manage to hit as well as doubling the points?

Edit: Oh, and I 5 star'd my first song on hard today, Even Flow. And also, when you whammy during a long star note to suck out the star power, is it based on speed of the whammy or just that you are using it for the whole note. Like does it matter that I furiously whammy to get all the star power that I can out of those notes.

It's more than double on the rock meter I think, it's a ton.

And as long as the note is lighting up blue while you whammy you're getting the sp that's all there really is to it.

I just came to the realization today that they actually shortened the freaking measures from what they really are in order to make star power not last as long... seriously wtf come on, it's hard enough without faking it gah.

Yeap... cept, I passed One first or 2nd try... have first 6 sets fully 5* etc.

It's super fun FC'ing whole intro up to mosh then missing the sp in mosh and failing out like 10 seconds into it.

Haha same, I feel your pain... I never had a problem with Mosh1 though, my problem was with the cursed Flood. Took me about 10 tries (spread across like... 2 weeks since every time I failed I stopped and popped Rock Band in instead) but I passed it with 4 stars.

I can do flood reasonably decently, well enough to clear like 8/10 times, but to be quite honest I can't even clear mosh one on hard without star power, and it cuts all the 4 sweeps into 3.


Although I'm actually getting really really close to hitting the SP at the start of mosh, and I'm certain when I do I'll clear it.

Hold up here! I've not been on GH3 in about two weeks....did they add No Doubt for DLC? If so, I need to get that, though I think there's quite a bit more better songs than Don't Speak off Tragic Kingdom....namely, Just a Girl, Spiderwebs, and Excuse Me Mister, imo.

My red button stopped working (360). =( RO requires your sales receipt for an exchange, but I don't have mine anymore. Any way to get a warranty exchange or something or do I really have to go and try and find a new guitar (I hate the old ones, I like the feel of the new ones)?

Depends where you bought it - If you bought the game with a credit card, many stores (at least toys r us) can offer you a replacement receipt used for such situations (they won't allow for returns to the store, they are just proof that you purchased it, when, etc)

So I'm working on 5*ing everything on hard and I have all the set list up til cult of personality cleared on expert... Should I be alt strumming songs like FCPREMIX, black sunshine and the intro to TTFAF (on hard). Is it just a preference thing because these all seem slow enough to downstrum if you're really pounding on it, but might be easier to work on alt strumming.

Use Alt-strumming, it really helps if you get that completely in your fingers. I still have to think when ALT-strumming enough to make me miss (or hit the wrong) frets.

I'm at RB on expert now and it just fails so damn hard, I wouldn't be able to do RB on hard consistently let alone on expert. I don't think I've even made it past the first 5 or 6 scales ... Beat all the other songs except RB and Lou on expert
