Edit: I think at least... the preview started changing directions more then the actual picture for me now that I look at it.

Whoa, ok that is freakin' TRIPPY. I was able to get it to reverse direction finally. I found that looking to the right of the image makes it easier to spin in one direction, and looking to the left makes it spin the other way. Another thing that helped is to force my brain into re-thinking which direction the figure is leaning. The combination of the two allows me to make it reverse direction. Still hard to make it reverse and it takes concentration to do it.

It depends on where you look. If you look at the shadow, it looks like counter clockwise. If you look at the feet, it'll look clockwise.

counter-clockwise always, tried looking away, at the shadow, blurring vision, turning head .. nothing could get me to see clockwise. when the "swivel foot" goes right to left it's behind the stationary foot, i can't flip that.

Just pick a prominant body part (like the pony tail or extended leg) think to yourself "front...back...front...back..." as it goes around. When the leg is at the right, and begins to swing to the left, imagine it behind the woman at the back if you want her going counterclockwise. Imagine it in front of the woman if you want her going clockwise.

It depends on where you look. If you look at the shadow, it looks like counter clockwise. If you look at the feet, it'll look clockwise.

...no, if you see it turning counterclockwise, the entire gif moves counterclockwise, including the girl.

According to the descriptions, I've noticed both left and right brain tendencies in myself.

I don't need a big picture or an overview to understand a lecture. (left)

The first thing I saw was nipples.

I see CCW but I can make it go either way easy.

Edit: If it helps, the way I flip it over is to rotate my finger in CW or CCW motion in my range of vision and it just switches.
