I think you have to understand that these people are so wrapped up, so brainwashed that they instantly dismiss anything that contradicts their believes; albeit even if the argument is a sound one, they simply don't care. You can show these people fossils, physical damn fossils, and they will dismiss them as either fake or tampered with.

With that said, one might ask "How do you know I'm wrong? How do you know for certain my beliefs are flawed, jaded, or ironic?" In all honesty, critics of religion (or anything supernatural for that matter) cannot prove for certain, and I emphasize certain here, that there is no "life after death", or the various flavors that invoke the phrase. Now most logical humans, reasonable self thinkers, generally weigh what is reasonable and what isn't? And to summarize- there is an over whelming wealth of both subjective and objective evidence "debunking" the theory of creationism.

It just amazes me the same people who think there is a divine super intelligence guiding the whims
of every action, are the same people who filter harry potter commercials and discovery channel.

Bringing up what, atheism? I don't think anyone actually "brought up" atheism here, we're bringing up secular arguments against what we see as an untenable position (to put it nicely). Does that make us evangelical secularists? Or maybe evangelical sciencismists.

edit: Most of the time, people will at least act like they respect each other simply for being people. But on the internet, you have to earn that respect. Trying to defend an unpopular religous "belief" is not a good way to go about that.

there's nothing respectable about "blahblahblah carbon dating, geology lecture". people who think the flintstones was a re-enactment deserve ridicule and mockery since the geology lecture is blahblahblah. It doesn't have to be about atheist or whatever, you can be christian and still recognize facts, right?

It does require some extra mental effort, which apparently is pretty hard for a lot of people. I can justify the existence of a soul with my understanding of modern physics, it simply reuiqres the a generous interpretation of chaos theory and the postulation of some sort of direct multidimensional interaction on the subatomic level. And if I find out something new that contradicts the explanation, I can come up with a new one, and I don't have to reject anyone's evidence out of hand.
