CVS2 when compared to MvC2 is huge difference, and while CvS2 maybe "broken" 3 top tier characters don't dominate everything else was where I was trying to go with it. Even further is GGXX, which like I said before really deserves much more credit than it gets in the tournament world. Only recently for example has evolution began to place a strong focus on it.
I think the point was more you listed CvS2 as one of the most balanced fighters of the generation, when its blatantly not.Originally Posted by *Shinzon*
Super Turbo FTW. I feel clean when playing that game compared to playing cvs2, mvc2, or 3s.
You would feel clean until someone pulls some meaties on you. :DOriginally Posted by Yangsing

i would disagree, even in light of roll canceling. Only 2 grooves can even use it, and by choosing those grooves you sacrifice using other grooves, and anyone good at K or A groove can certainly tell you that is a big deal to give it up. On top of that, the EO versions remove the roll canceling glitch. I may be a CVS2 fanboy but I still believe it is one of the most balanced fighters.Originally Posted by Sasarai
There are three grooves that can RC, not two - C, A, and N. Also, lolEOOriginally Posted by evilbau

I love them all: CVS2, MVC2, GGXX, SF3 etc. They are all great, but I believe MVC2 to be the best. It's not spammage, or you wouldn't see the same top 16 players dominating for the past 5 years. Eventually, if it came down to spammage, those players would run out of "luck" - luck if it were a spam fest; it is not. The learning curve is tremendous for MVC2. There is more to think about, going on, strategize over, and more output needed than in the other games.
I also don't know why the hell you call it unbalanced(which it is) because of characters when SF3 has a total of 3 characters played competitively.
MVC2 at least has a combination of the following:
Sentinel
Mags
Storm
Cap Commando
Psylocke
Cyclops
Tron
Cable
Strider
Doom
It's also not an assist-fest. Please, spam assists all day and good players(who don't spam) will capitalize and punish your assists all day and night. They could also just knockout and call it a game as well, if all you are doing is assist spamming.
Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned and the various permutations of Guilty Gear XX are probably the most balanced fighting games out there.
All Capcom fighters are notoriously unbalanced
If you're going to put Tron/Cyclops/Doom in there then the 3rd strike competitions get Makoto/Ryu/Yang :DOriginally Posted by Weltall

i mean, every character has their own loop, EVERY character is really good, no matter how low their tier is. Sure potemkin is bullshit but it's still the funnest.

ryu is excited at sf4 screenshots
Is that a penis bulge?
Obviously, it can't be. As Ryu is Japanese. And Japanese men cannot have bulges. It's against the laws of physics.
3rd Strike in Super Battle Opera is getting more diverse. The players there are getting brave enough that they'll play characters other than Ken/Chun/Yun. You even see good Hugo players. And yes, even good Twelve players.Originally Posted by Viq
