except thats how it works with things like hate from a monster. If you are at capped hate zone or log and you are hate free. I am pretty sure IF there is farming fatigue that it'd work the same way.

I wonder if farming may have a particular "treasure pool" to get drops from like choco digging? and maybe bad drop rates are from someone else farming the zone dry.
logging did not reset fishing fatigue even when they added the cap at something exorbitant like 5 hrs. you had to actually zone to trigger it. this is why you saw so many people lining up on the same spot to fish back in the day. they used the same bot that zoned them, and the pathing to the water was identical, resulting in them standing in a neat little bot line.

I'd love to see the anti-train farming and general farming fatigue POL notes, because I read all the ones they release and I've never seen of them.

The longer a player remains in the same area, the more difficult it will become to obtain certain items through logging and mining.

That's the HELM related patch that nobody's disputing.

I know that, it's just better to have a source than "I vaguely remember something something something."

The anti-train farming one I'm as sure as one can be without the notes in front of them.

See, I was a wee little WHM 20 or so, trying to farm dhalmels in the Canyon so I could level leather more (know how hard it is to level a craft like leather when you can't farm well? c.c ). I don't know if people still do it now, but back then people train-farmed the dhalmels all the time. Pissed me off to no end (because I couldn't handle more than one at a time, and once I finally hammered it to death, there were none left). After the release update, I was /telling the train farmers that they were just hurting themselves by doing that. They never listened, of course.

Funny the things you forget. My highest job was WHM 20-something for my first year or so playing. All I did was fish and craft. (Edit: Maybe it was 30-something, I don't recall exactly. Whatever level it'd be to take a good few minutes to kill one dhalmel, but not too too much chance of dying to it.)

    Re: Fatigue when farming.

Thanks for the replys, but I am still uncertain if there is fatigue associated with farming in a certain area for a long period of time. Anyway I would be happy to try to gather some data on this because I plan to farm in the boyada tree for a few weeks with my bst. I know it is not the fastest way to get gil but I can do it solo and it doesn't matter if I go afk to do other stuff. So do you think it would be worthwhile to record drops I get over the next week or do or you think moon phase and whether or not the pet gets the kill will confound the data. I could easily record drops each kill, kill time, and time in zone or record other things if someone has a suggestion.

I think I noticed this when we had a group trying to Farm the tars to pop the Unstable cluster. We ended up going 0/30 or /40 after our 7th unstable cluster fight.

If getting a drop 7 times brings your drop rate to nil, there wouldn't be farming, ever.

I'm still waiting for the patch notes about this because as far as I know it's complete bull conjured up in the minds of people that don't like their luck.

No proof but I agree there is farming fatigue.

Hour one at Castle Z treasure rains down. After ~one hour we rarely even get crystals.
