Unless you return to the 100th floor via the key item received upon the first completion.

By the way, since the reward for re-completion of the 100th floor was adjusted in the update, what was the reward for re-completion (2nd time through) before the update? After the update?

Unless it's figured out that doing it the 2nd time actually does something worthwhile.

The only report I've heard is it increases the drop rate of a weapon to 100%.
Am I going crazy or aren't Nyzul Weapons always 100%? I think it makes the headpiece 100% though.

Before: random weapon and some chance of head armor
After: weapon matched to the job of the runic disc holder and 100% random head armor

It was actually two changes made here. The 100% head armor thing is active the first time you complete a disc too.

To elaborate a little more, as I understand it:

Before: 100% random weapon and some chance of random head armor
After(if disc holder warps out): 100% random weapon and chance of random head armor dropping
After(disc holder stays): 100% random weapon and 100% random head armor
Complete again with key item on disc holder: 100% weapon for disc holders current job, 100% random head armor

EDIT: I don't know of anybody who had recompleted nyzle isle with the same disc holder before the update. The only incentive people had to do this was from the update notes themself.

It's 100% random head drop only if the disc holder with key item doesn't warp.

So.... does it clear your floors if you already have the key item, from the previous time you went? SE must be retarded if it does.... at least the second time you hit 100 (with the new key item) you should be able to repeat as much as you want ;x

Bless you taru, you saved me the time posting this part. I just added in that last part in case people got their hopes up about a 100% head drop regardless... and having Runic Key from first complete made absolutely no difference in our drop rate on any floor (having TH3 for all those attempts).

The good news for everyone: We're entirely certain what 2nd win/completion on floor100 does. For the time being, this is the only known use for the Runic Key key item.
The good-or-bad news for everyone: If your disk holder is running up a second time (either deliberately or accidentally), be prepared to give your PT a billion of the same weapon--Or if you have more jobs leveled, it might be useful to force drops for certain jobs people want. If you're starting Nyzul now or want to expand your current runs, give a disk to someone with the most jobs so you can eventually give every PT member a weapon of jobs of their choice.
The potentially bad news: It takes (at least) 20 tags to work from 1 to 100 again. However! Since there are 18 weapon drops, law of averages would say it's not entirely bad to use 20 tags to be able to make a 100% job weapon drop instead of pray for randomness over almost as many tags. This is the sort of hindsight we wish would have been possible in the first place--but it was impossible for us to know this when we started months ago.

Should? Yes, probably. Actuality? Hell no. Having run up to 100 twice on my disk and completing it, it just blanked my data like the first time. It also re-gave me the Runic Key key item (I have a screenshot of that somewhere I could post...), which is strange because I've never heard of a key item that can be overwritten by itself.
................Actually. I haven't touched the rune in the first room since clearing 2nd time. I think I'll touch it for fun tomorrow night ~.~

((btw sek, I know I should be in bed, but my headache pills aren't working))

    Edit: To answer Minion's question.

I'm sure it has been said alot already, but the NPC that upgrades Salvage armor (And also stores armor for players) will also store the Weapons for players. It seems a bit odd that Square-Enix would add so many items if they were useless, and allow them to be stored on this NPC, so like everyone has been saying, these weapons can probably be upgraded later on. Or, Square-Enix just let this NPC store the Weapons because they also come from Nyzul, but oh wells.

I agree that since he'll accept storage of the later-used Salvage armor there's a CHANCE there's hope he'll be able to upgrade the weapons at some point, too. Nyzul is assault and Salvage is--uh--well, Salvage. Different activities, technically. The fact SE chose to use the same NPC to store the weapons makes me a bit optimistic (I mean, they could have added a new NPC or a different non-weird-activity-related one).

One more thing I forgot to say last post--One other justification for some later 'upgrade'/new WS/'relic' of these is because BLU COR PUP don't have relics from Dynamis, and SE wanted to finally give them a special something on par with all the other jobs...

Or, just have the disc holder warp prior to defeating the boss on floor 100 and, while it'll be a random weapon, you can repeat floor 100 as many times as you want and get 20 weapons in 20 tags. In this case, give a disk to someone with the least/no melee jobs so they only need one, if any, weapon once everyone else has all the ones they want.

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

The name of the great katana "Windslicer" is spelled in english instead of something japanese sounding so maybe there is something to them spelling it out for everyone to understand. Also some weapons have a weapon skill associated with them like the dancing dagger, Vorpal sword, death sickle. Have you noticed anything with the scythe weapon skill "Shadow of Death" while useing it with the "Death Sickle"? Maybe if you do the weapon skill enough it might unlock whatever power these weapons hold?

I noticed there is a "Death Scythe" and then they named this "Death Sickle", just sounds fishy to me. It's somewhat confusing and it seems like the names to these weapons might be the clues as to what to do with them.

The names are just classic Square-oriented names, as almost everything else is. Don't read into it so much.

I feel really bad for whatever person you might theoretically abuse for this, since they'll never get to lot head armor or get weapons they might want. Mages can use weapons, too! (Ok fine rare, but if these end up meaning anything they might end up wanting anyway). It's totally up to you, but I think a lot of people like the idea of forcing a drop eventually. If these weapons end up being anything (which clearly you don't think they will, based on your previous postings), would you rather hope a drop comes when it can only come out of randomness, or would you rather get it 100%? I think spending 20 tags to, say... assure you can get a weapon with a new WS isn't much of a sacrifice.

Ideally, if you have all the time in the world to do Nyzul, you need to do 1-100 3 times before you can farm heavily. Pick your person with the most jobs to do the first disk. Run it through. Restart that disk and start another disk on someone else. That way, once both those are saved at 96, 5 people of the PT get a shot at a 100% forced job weapon drop depending on what the repeated disk user enters as, and the 4 non-discs + the first disc get a shot at randoms. The very key thing here being that this system is far more fair to the person who used the first disc. I can't think of many people that would merrily warp out every single time and totally throw away their chances at drops. Even if they're that selfless (kudos), they'll run out of tokens eventually. 1900 a run + temp items gets quite expensive. To give everyone a shot at drops and weapons, have to have 2 discs saved at 96, and a repeat disc can potentially deliver every weapon everyone wants 100%. I would never deliberately shaft a mage just because they're not the biggest fan of playing melee... hell I wouldn't let them even if they said they wanted to. I'm... big on fairness to my group.

So get 2 people access and alternate? Doesn't really take that long to go floor 1=>TOP when you don't farm Turlet/Cerb etc.

That's what I suggest at least. Swap off who warps, or once one person gets a/the drop(s) they want, they can just warp full time. As I think I said, the only way to avoid not need 2 discs is if you have someone entirely willing to surrender the ability to lot anything off floor 100... and even then you'll eventually run out of tokens since person who warps gets zero. 20 tags in the name of fairness isn't that much a price to pay (for me, at least).

I also want to really emphasize the importance of doing Nyzul assault with people you know and trust. Like, preferably your 5 best friends on the server, if possible! There's so much about it that depends on everyone holding up his-or-her end of the deal. A disk holder that can always show, enough job variety to where 1 missing person isn't the end of the world, people that will attempt to avoid drama, people fair about drops to where you can just give/pass to people without any sort of rules, etc etc etc. There are a hundred things to it. I'm sure that plenty have been screwed over out of nyzul from people disappearing after a particular drop, or just losing interest and quitting while having the only disc... for some reason this is a lot more personal. Besides maybe an exp static you do multiple jobs on with the same PT, this is probably the closest any group of 6 will get working together.

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

Was discussing this topic amongst static and LS a few weeks ago, and given the somewhat random nature of the storage option, a thought occurred to me that maybe the weapons have a "simple" latent: it activates when wearing a complete set of Salvage/Nyzul gear.

Probably far-fetched, but I don't know if there's anyone who could realistically even test this yet.

That would suck, because then you couldn't wear things like W.Turban, and the weapons would be useless due to the full salvage set + Nyzul weapon combo not parsing higher than mix and match.

Not only that, but 18 useless weapons that are job specific and can be stored at a NPC that doesn't store mundane gear.

I think the fact that they can be stored is some kind of major hint.
