    Re: Nyzul Weapons

Just wondering, I haven't seen a careful parse or comparision of any of the weapons versus similar equivalents with the same damage and delay. Are there any out there?

For example, if I had the Double Axe, I'd go up to Sky or the Tree on my BST and parse the heck out of it solo, comparing it to Nadziak, which has the exact same damage and delay stats along with some other rather nonspecific additional stuff.

Has anyone done this for any of the weapons on any job?

    Thanks.

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

Useless post from someone who doesn't do nyzul.

The fact that they can be stored and the fact that you can force a certain drop seems odd to me. Even if the person who has the disk doesn't have the job at 75 they can still go as a level 1 job and get that particular weapon correct? Assuming the other 5 members can get the clear without them.

Could the NPC that also upgrades salvage gear possibly upgrade nyzul weapons once all 18 have been stored(edit-I know that an all powerful weapon or whatever "upgraded" would be in the dats, but I mean something that is simply "unlocked" like ks30 weapons)? I don't have a clue how to check dats, but is there any chat from him unaccounted for? Didn't SE also say in an update or two ago in one of their teasers that we'd understand the use of the nyzul weapons soon as well?

Not only that, but 18 useless weapons that are job specific and can be stored at a NPC that doesn't store mundane gear.

I think the fact that they can be stored is some kind of major hint.
Actually, every single piece of gear that NPC stores is mundane. It's what you get by combining them that is special. However, there is nothing you can combine with a Nyzul weapon, so it is merely mundane like all the level 15/25/35 salvage pieces.

Its only a matter of time before we find out the real purpose of these weapons. SE said they would reveal the secret soon (knowing them could be another year >.> ) They went on to say if you have one, you won't want to throw it away. But the real question is, wtf do they have planned? They mentioned a long time ago as well that they were thinking pf adding relic style weapons to toau. But so far they have given no details and have never mentioned it again.

Given the apparent name link to specific WSs, some might be linked to some of the new WSs that will apparently go in with the expansion, with all the WS links only becoming "activated" when the expansion goes live. The new WSs probably are in turn necessary to make non-elemental skillchains so that time mages can magic burst Comet and Meteor. How's that for speculation?

So "Vorpal Sword" means "Flowery WS"?

Didn't someone already rule out that the weapons they used and the weapon models of nyzule didnt match up

Honestly, I don't know. My PT never got around to trying this angle... though I could have sworn that when ToAU came out that SE said there was a lvl50 requirement to enter assault zones... not 100% on that. Getting from 96 to 100 and actually killing the boss with 5 would be an insane challenge for most, since doing it with 6 often presents troubles enough. The difficulty of the NMs and 'Leaders' up there is just disgustingly high compared to the lower floors. Basically, someone's free to try to test this if they want.

Well... The tease? For me it was 2 patches ago... I remember it was the Einherjar patch, because I was scouring the dats for new weapons and gear before the servers were back up. There were very few weapons added (basically just the Odin stuff), however there were 18 completely blank placeholder slots for weapons. 1 for each job. All lvl75. No data filled in or name given... only data for all 18 was lvl75 <job>. I'd assume those are still there... I can check I guess. To anyone randomly going through the dats for data on new stuff from that update they wouldn't have noticed it or found it at all odd, but it's mighty suspicious to me...

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

Editor: Nyzul Isle's method of saving your progress and you travel to the top is a new game design, isn't it?

Ogawa: The concept is you make regular progress and the content changes along the way. Compared to Salvage, it was made to be a light activity. But for balance, it will still be difficult for a light user to reach the final floor.

It's been brought to my attention that users have reached the end, but they do not understand the true value of the reward that they received. "I got to the end, and this is it?" is what they said to us, but I believe the player who obtained it won't want to throw it out (lol).
    ---

Editor: Are the rewards better than equipment we've received up till now?

Ogawa: The stuff that currently drops there is about the same quality. In the future the value of it will increase we think.
    ---

Editor: What will prompt that kind of change?

Ogawa: That is something I can't tell you right now (lol). You'll have to wait for a future announcement.

They seem to imply that there is something that can be done with the rewarded item to make it better if Im understanding this at all correctly.

Would be a reasonable assumption, if only the weapon models they used in the trailer resembled the Nyzul weapons.

Given that many(most?) Relic weapons change dramatically as they are upgraded (Katana, GKT, Dagger, Bow, Great Sword, Polearm, Shield, HTH) I don't think that is the best way to eliminate it as a possibility.

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

You also gain the ability to use a new weaponskill with the ___ of trials after you unlock them, it's possible these are just used to unlock whatever weaponskill you might want(JSW, coining now).

I've only done nyzul for 1 run so I don't know much about it at all. If there is a level 50 minimum that kinda kills my level 1 idea, though I guess level 50 for a job over a few disks isn't that bad? From what I understand it's very reasonable to have them all that high over 3-6 people and get those people up to level 100, just takes some time.

I'm also surprised I've never read about the 18 weapons without any data filled in. Maybe I just missed the memo and they are common knowledge?

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

I don’t see why people are getting so excited over the possibility of knew weapon skills regardless of where they come from. At the end of the day, you all know deep down, they aren’t going to be as good as existing weapon skills, and will end up becoming a bit of a joke much like relic weapon skills.
There isn’t even any point in getting excited about new skill chain possibilities as no one skillchains and magicbursts anymore anyway.

Well, there is the excitement of getting a new weapon skill and reading the help text for it. I remember when I read the help text for Savage Blade for the first time. "Delivers an aerial attack comprised of two hits. Not as good as Vorpal Blade."

I think what the Dev meant by the bolded statement in the quote is that they are boosting 2handed weapons. Thus the "I can't tell you yet" comment that followed. You gotta admit Askar body is sick for 2handed folks. It's a stretch, but in the same vane as SE's typical sideways logic.

This was asked in a post above, but got ignored: Has anyone with a full set of Nyzule Armor used a weapon? Maybe it increases the set bonus? That seems more likely to be SE's MO...

And to answer the statements about "Second time" disks. It makes the Weapon of the job of the disk holder drop 100%. We got Wight SLayers for everyone in the group thanks to the Disk holder being a Blu.

    Re: Nyzul Weapons

Has anyone gone up a floor after beating floor 100? When we beat it we only had 1min left or so, so we couldnt attempt this without sacraficing points which we desperately needed.

If so, does it bring you to floor 101 or does it start you back at 1 or does it redo floor 100 again? I know its an option from seeing it when we defeated Khaimara on floor 100, but werent willing to risk the 1600 points.

We have a guy at floor 91 atm and are probably going to go up after the 100th just to see what happens this time. But if anyone has actually done this please respond here so i know what im getting myself into beforehand if possible.
