no explanation needed really. Start it up, hit new parse, hit things, see results.

I also have the LilDevil parser set up, but haven't used it much. Pretty sure it's safe.

Expect some sort of results later today or tonight, depending on my workload.
Edit: As a preview, the mob will be against Lesser Colibri using Kazaridachi or Windslicer. Gear and days and such to follow. Currently it's Windsday so I'll start with Windslicer until Windsday is over.
Wow, if the whole point of Nyzul Weapons is to have an additional effect, damn Shall I be very cross indeed. (Hey I get to chose to cast any one of 6 additional effects any time I like!)
Sounds good. Only potential issue I can think of is that Colibri are strongly wind-based. If you happen to get a chance to take a whack at something that isn't, that would also be great. Maybe a few Robber Crabs or something.Originally Posted by kuronosan
Good luck and thanks!
I don't think testing a wind effect against colibri would be a very good test at all, they have extremely high wind resist. If there is an en-aero effect it will hit colibri for 0-1, when it actually doesn't resist.Originally Posted by kuronosan
BLU in my shell tested Wightslayer for 30 minutes on Colibri without any add effects.
My first 30-minute tests against lolibri are done... going to do some spike damage tests then later tonight I'll go fight some robber crabs... once I'm done I'll post all results at once. I apologize in advance for mediocre test conditions but I've spent more time on my BLU than I ever have on SAM merits. Someone else with far better gear is more than welcome to give this a shot but I wanted to level everything out. Tests were done with Seigan active, so assume every 30 seconds my Third Eye macro was pressed.
Test Conditions:
Main: Kazaridachi (D76, DLY450, CHR+2) vs. Windslicer (D76, DLY450, ???)
Job: SAM75/WAR37
GTK Skill (after mods): 285
Base Attack: 452
w/Berserk: 565
w/Berserk + Warcry: 589
w/Warcry Only: 476
Gear (relevant stats listed, bonuses included):
Head: Wyvern Helm (STR+5)
Body: Haubergeon (STR/DEX +5, AGI-5, Acc+15, Atk+15)
Hands: Myochin Kote +1 (STR/DEX+7, Atk/Acc+7)
Legs: Shura Haidate (STR +5, Acc+7)
Feet: Rutter Sabatons (STR+3, VIT+2, Atk+8, Slow +2%)
Back: Amemet +1 (STR+2, Atk+15)
Rings: Rajas (STR/DEX +5, Atk/Acc+5, STP+5, SB+5), Flame (STR+5, Atk+5)
Earrings: Bushinomimi (Gtk +5, STR+2, Atk+7, Acc+5), Brutal Earring (Double Attack Bonus, STP+1)
Belt: Warwolf Belt (STR/VIT/DEX+5, Atk/Acc+5)
Neck: Chiv Chain (STR+3, Acc+5, STP+1)
Grip: Mythril +1 (STR+2, Acc+2)
Total STR: 70+49
Total DEX: 68+22
Assuming:
Same gear was used to TP as to WS, to keep the TP gain even.
Meditate was not used, to keep the TP gain even and weaponskills consistent with accuracy and not ability.
Jinpu was used once in both parses, as a measure of the possibility of "wind slicer". More tests on this later.
Seigan was up for the duration of every fight, and Third Eye was up every 30 seconds.
Hasso was never used, to prevent haste or strength bonuses or accuracy bonuses interfering.
Again, I'll post full results when the opportunity presents itself.
I'm not understanding the point of your test.Originally Posted by kuronosan
If the point is to determine how often additional effect takes place, you don't need to go into the detail with all of the gear and do it vs. another weapon. All you need to do is single wield the weapon and go hit stuff for a while.
If the point is to determine which weapon is better, then you probably need a better parser. DVSparse, does not calculate DPS. You total damage will always be (mob health * number of mobs killed). Maybe you can use a stopwatch to time how long it takes to kill a few birds, but there will be a lot of variables that are difficult to account for like pop times, how long it takes you to claim, variability of weaponskills, ect. You can get a rough idea in a party by switching weapons at some point, but that assumes everyones elses performance is a constant.
LilDevil parser has DPS - I'm hoping it works as advertised in the current version. I know they had trouble with that feature in some of the previous builds.
I get the odd feeling that's this really is gonna be nothing more than a hidden effect of enspell damage... Thinking back to FF6, Burning Knuckles or Fire Knuckles there would randomly cast Fire after a normal attack and Windslicer or Tempest would do Wind Slash randomly. Being the case, if it procs during critical hits, it might have potential, but eh...
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I guess what I was looking for was any sort of hidden effect (accuracy, critical hit, weaponskill buff, double attack, etc).
Additional effects are easy for me to find out.
Ehm.. sorry for the noob question but I recently got back to the game... is really there an NPC where you can store all the rare/ex stuff you have in the moghouse to have more space?Originally Posted by Khamsin

There's an NPC that will store the Rare/Ex level 15,25, and 35 armors for Salvage Upgrades, as well as storing the Weapons from Nyzul Isle Investigation. But there is no NPC that lets you store Rare/Ex gear though.Originally Posted by Cautery

Oh, yeah, besides AF and Relic!Originally Posted by spooky
Oh, and Event items !
There are also NPCs that will store all of the holiday event armors and furnishings. Armor is limited to those visible on your character though (no eggs, etc).
