I actually read the forum on this, its a Caculation based on Autamatons HP.. i think it was..

HP Missing/2

So say 1000 HP is missing, it would do 500 DMG,
Further more Fire Manuevers Increases its Damage x2 (and x1 each after)
To explain better, 1 Fire Manuever would be 1000/2x2 so 1k actually,
While putting 3 (i think the max) would be... 1000/2x4, adding up to roughly 2k DMG,
Theres some more complexity behind it but thats what i got ;\

haha wow, thats sick as shit. i hope it doesn't get 'adjusted' - looks like fun.

my pld averages 7-800 vorpals on those mobs, little lower for the NMs. I hit 1k now and again. i was feeling pretty good about that damage, but now, haha wow again.

Foes this count? It was on our first KS99 of the night (Chlevnik's Final Meteor), I didn't have aegis or any MDB+ or Magic Damage - gear besides Lamian Kaman +1, no Phalanx 2, only Fealty + Rampart (Without putting on my VIT stuff either.) Spent the rest of the night trying to replicate it, didn't get anywhere close even with rampart, /shrug.

fealty alone should let you resist meteor for the low damage like that

A wing just allows you to open with Jinpu (or enpi)... which sounds kinda silly, I'll admit. But Sekkanoki gimps your first WS (especially with Hagun). So it gives you an extra SC in the chain and allows your first Gekko to do full damage. I tried it on a marid with soboro... cuz if 6 WSs with Hagun killed it, there's no hope of getting off a 7th. Stupid thing musta been pre-loaded with TP cuz it popped a flee right away and killed me right before the 7th WS.

Only risk with Salvage bosses is the possibility you'll get para'd right before a JA. It's important you ask a mage to watch you like a hawk for Paralyna. I stole a Revitalizer from the MNKs on the run Crizto's talking about and did the 6-step twice. =P
