Nice, my shell has cleared Xarcabard with as little as 16, and yes that is killing Dynamis Lord.Originally Posted by Xanthe

If you rly only get 1 attack off or similar change your Dynamis strat - seriously.
I was in a JP LS before with lots of people. We would generally form 3-4 Allys out of 8-10 ppl or so. One ally are the Blm and Sleepers. Then each Ally has one puller that pulls a slept mob back to their camp point and kills it.
Spreading the camps out a bit prevents things from getting too laggy and also from wasting damage if you have lots of people.
Any there any resources aside from Dynamis Bums that indicate how to pull of these feats? I've resigned to the fact my LS will never have a large # of people and who we do have are for the most part not the super hardcore maxed merits, top tier gear set. We do well, but not near the level being described here.
What do your rosters look like? Any tips, especially for Glacier Hydra area (are they even worth doing over normal beastmen?) and Xarcabard where if you don't sac most things, you're looking at 8+ mobs at once?
You really don't need good gear to do well with low counts in dynamis. You need a good puller and good sleeper/s. Puller is a matter of experience learning the quirks of every zone. Dynamis is not a WYSIWYG zone for pulling. If you can import a puller to show you the tricks for all the zones, that would be one thing that helps. The other is to make your team more efficient. Don't waste your people on things that don't need to be done. Every melee should always be applying their DD to the MA's target, for instance. The NINs don't need to stand there dumb as a post voking things for the sleepers -- they can voke using stnpc while putting their DD on the target. Statues don't need a tank. BLM can kill those just fine. Your tanks don't need to be your Main-Assist. A melee DD as MA can switch targets with his weapons up and save you quite a bit of time moving from target to target.Originally Posted by Banzai_Kitty
Highly variable. We usually have 18-36 (typical is 24). Usually 2-3 BLM, rest assorted DD. We like to put one THF in every party when possible. We like 2xPLD for alternating Sentinel through 100F. We try to put our sleepers with whms that don't have a tank to heal, so they can focus on keeping the sleeper alive. For windy, we like 5+ BLM (tons of statues there). What do your rosters look like?
We usually totally skip Hydras. With each extension being 15m and it taking more than 15m to reach and kill them, they're not really worth it. However, if you want to kill them (like to clear the way for attestations), make a space for kiting then pull and kite them around while plucking targets off and slaying. Eyes then shadows. NIN, RDM, & BST make great kiters (bst charm is a short-duration stun/bind). Don't bother trying to sleep them.Any tips, especially for Glacier Hydra area (are they even worth doing over normal beastmen?)
There's really 3 separate things to do in Xarca: slay all the NMs to pop DL & the last extends, kill DL, and farm the zone. For the NM stage, we use a series of sac pulls at first that result in a couple of the castles being totally cleared (the middle ones). Then we use those for circle kiting on the other pulls. Also, there's a trick for pulling the NE-most 3-eye wall before that extend. If you tag the SE-most eye in that line from the SE, you only get 2x eyes and 6x demons. MUCH easier to just sleep'n'slay than 3+9.and Xarcabard where if you don't sac most things, you're looking at 8+ mobs at once?
Later on for the post-DL farm, we go back and clear the eyes from a couple more castles and do a lot of circle kiting and plucking stuff off to sleep & kill. Having just to sleep say half the pull for the 30s it takes a kiter to round the castle once makes a big difference. The puller still usually dies, but the pull is managed a lot nicer. Make sure you have flexible BLMs. BLM can sleep, too. They're not JUST portable howitzers.
We haven't found a slick way to split things in the farm-time in a general way, but we're slowly learning how things path and spawn so we can pull better on subsequent runs and maybe take advantage of terrain and pathing better.

The one thing that eludes us so far is slaying DL. We do any dynamis zone in our sleep with low count, except for DL. I know a single RDM/drk or a pair of them can CS-stun in succession (essentially solo-stunning DL for each CS duration) quite effectively, but our RDM/drks so far always let things slip through and wipe the killers. They've become so discouraged, that they're unwilling to try DL again until we have 4xRDM/drk to pair up on the CS-stuns.
I don't play RDM, so I have no personal experience I can provide to help our RDMs. Web stories do say it's possible and people regularly do DL with very high success only using 1-2 RDM/drks, but it doesn't detail the exact method the RDMs should use. If anyone has tips for precisely how to go about CS-stunning DL as a solo RDM, that might help us quite a bit.
I'd say around 24 or so is a good number to clear all but Xarca (unless your LS is pimped as hell).
Tho watch that "24 number" ppl tend to secretly switch weapons to skill up![]()
My dynamis shell usually had 17-22 people per run and believe me we had some of the most gimp melee ever lol. All you need is 5 good people for dynamis the rest of the people really don't matter as long as they have the right jobs. You can farm Xarcabard with 20 no problem but you'll probably only get 3-4 drops per run which is like going with 40 people and getting 6-8 drops.
please tell me there's a video of itOriginally Posted by Cabe/Book
I think getting 6-8 drops from Xarca is......well.....i've heard it happen. Juding from most ppl sayings and own experience, if you have 20 or 40 for Xarca, it wont change droprate to +4 more relics lol.Originally Posted by Veli
If you want you can also check out our website. We've develped most of our own strategies based on experience in actual runs, though we've filled in the blanks using info from DynamisBums too. Their stuff is easily the most thorough you can find, right down to what mobs pop from each pull.Originally Posted by Banzai_Kitty
The Hydra areas in the Glacier are rough.. can't be slept, have Fomor abilites/WS like that AOE Drown and AOE TP joykill. If you have a decent sized group and you're either farming or want to go for one of the Attestations that sit up at the top of the zone, be ready to raise a few people more than usual.. heh.
To kill the Attestation pop eye thingy i've always used a 6 man party to run up there and kill it.. Thf , Brd , Whm , Sam , Drk , Mnk. The jobs dont really matter its just want I tended to take up with me. I tried brining an alliance to through the Shadows but the mobs are just to much of a hassle to bother with. I would have my alliance just continue on down the mountain farming while we took the 20 minutes to flee / RR and kill the eye.
